Nuh-ahh! Males don't lay eggs; they're called roosters. Chickens are females. :p

Nope...

Wiki it for yourself.

Male or female a chicken is a chicken.

Ah, but in the Divinity universe, all chickens are female(or asexual, at the very least).

Did you ever see a rooster model to go with the hen(or as the game calls them, chicken) model in the game? no?
That's because chickens are magical creatures that reproduce with a chicken rune.

True story.

Yup, that's 100% true and proved in div 2 smile

It's usually wandering about the stone circle near the afflicted chap. And the chap in question is on a low terrace near the entrance to the Maxos Temple, which is hopefully not too vague!

I found the bloke randomly last night, but went off in another direction - I was kinda doing a round swoop of the outside edges of Broken Valley.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

It would have been perfectly safe with the mad-man.

In the end, they are no longer with us, but have departed into the Hall of Echos. I wonder if chickens still lay eggs there.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

Thank you all for the laughs! The argument about chickens vs. roosters and chewy vs. crunchy sure helped me de-stress a little!

My two-cents? Chickens are yummy when they're cooked up right-- which for me is a whole variety of ways! Whole, shoved full with fresh garlic, onion, sage, rosemary, thyme, chives from my garden, a little olive oil, lemon juice (particularly if it is fresh-squeezed), and some regular ol' white table wine-- all put into a crock pot/slow cooker until done. YUMMMMY! Mmmmm, and some peppery spices on the top to add some color and flavor.

Chicken.... YUM!

Perhaps we now know why that man-character is named "Casper?" He never had a chance, poor bloke.

I quite like coq au vin myself. I'm never too sure whether it's as authentically rustic French as is claimed, but it tastes great nonetheless oven-cooked with a bunch of finely chopped garlic, onions and bacon and a few fresh herbs of your fancy along with most of a bottle of wine (doesn't really matter if it's red or white: though I generally prefer red). Tasty cooking for the idle! grin

I'm not sure about using a soul-forged chicken or any other sort of possessed poultry in the recipe, though.

I'd have to agree here. If one eats Casper's chicken, one may suffer the same fate! After all, they say "You are what you eat!" delight

p.s.
My version recipe that I summarized I call Valentino Especiale-- first made in a barracks microwave (though not in the whole chicken version) for my then-boyfriend, who then declared he couldn't stand chicken because of being raised on a farm and having to butcher too many of them. He kindly ate it anyway... then begged for more, and has requested ever since (oh, I should probably mentioned I married the guy! cheer )

Or he married you thanks to your recipes? laugh

I've just realised, because I'm slow, that your recipe is a somewhat embellished version of what I subsequently posted: I'll have to give it a try! Happily we also have fresh chives and things, at least assuming the snow didn't kill them... (trying to retrieve them through 6" of snow for Christmas dinner was a finger-tingling experience of the worst kind!)

I haven't come across the infamous soul forged chicken as of yet or Casper came to that. And I've been round all the mysterious shrines where you fight the rhyming mage. So where the heck is it?

Casper is south of the narrow-ish passage into the Maxos temple area, on a raised section of ground along the western mountain. The white chicken is south of there, in the nearby shrine (with a bunch of other chickens).

Careful with those chickens: seems we can now add "spiky" to "chewy" and "crunchy":

Man stabbed to death... by chicken.
