I've been fighting in the fjords before tackling Sentinel Island. I like the challenge of fighting level 21-23 creatures at level 15, though I've moved up to level 18 or 19 perhaps since killing several creatures here. I'm getting 2-4,000 per kill here. I've entered the ruin that has the 3 dragon statues that want seeds and now I'm swimming around to all the places I can reach without being able to switch form yet. This is fun combat, though difficult The saving grace is my creature throws level 9 magic blasts and magic missiles.

It's perfectly okay what you've been doing and I do that routinely.

Cool, thanks! I've killed a beholder and I'm guessing he'll be important later. I've found stuff for some of the people on Sentinel, so I'll need to make sure not to pick up anything for someone I'm not keeping. Otherwise, I'm guessing I'll have a quest item I can't drop. Fighting here has been the most fun I've had in the game so far Levels keep popping like popcorn...

The fisrt time I play Ego Draconis I do the same on the Orobas Fjords like you said and indeed, it's fun and you level-up fast!! I remember I was 5 levels below the first enemies you meet at the Fjords But I don't know if I will do this again next time. It depends on how difficult it will be on "nightmare difficulty" LoL
On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin, it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

...It depends on how difficult it will be on "nightmare difficulty" LoL I tried that lol, no good. I couldn't even hit them. But on Normal, just walking down that long winding path gave me 2 whole levels. I always go there before the Tower to clear the ambush around that first waypoint shrine. I learned my lesson on my first character

I ended up gaining 5 levels in the Fjords. I was 16 going in and 21 coming out. I don't have wisdom, so I'm guessing someone with wisdom might gain an extra level. I might have chosen xp bonuses as some of the quest rewards, I can't remember. It should make the Laiken run a breeze. I'm very weak to poison, but being 3-5 levels higher than the enemy should help I've got a +75 damage to magic and another +30 so that adds 105 to each spell cast. Yay!!! Can anyone say overkill? I knew you could. P.S. Which is better, elder or legendary?

I haven't found any epic or unique's yet, but perhaps those come after level 20. I haven't found a mage armor set worth calling it that yet. I'm starting to find stuff titled the Archmage's blah and perhaps when I get enough of those, I'll change my mind. I don't stay in melee unless it's one on one. I have about 10 strength total so I'm not going to impress them with my sword-work. I just backflip out and fire another mageblast. I kinda look like someone out of a Cirque du Soliel show when I fight

Okay, I've finished the Battle Tower stuff and I only have one teleport available now, to Orobas Fjords. From the Fjords, I can go back to Broken Valley. I've noticed the new BV enemies are again higher level than me, which I love. Is this similar to the Fjords, where it's okay to clear out as much as I can, or should I just stay in the Orobas area. I wasn't paying attention and actually got killed by a named goblin near a tree.

If you can survive in Broken Valley, then feel free to do so. You might end up a little over-leveled when you return to the fjords, though, depending on how much you've done already.

I couldn't survive in Broken Valley I got bombarded out of my skull. I turned tail and stayed in safe, easy, Orobas. I'm missing the town scene in Orobas. High Hill and the Harbor have some folks, but nothing like the BV village. I think I'm about level 28-29 and I still have several spots I haven't visited here. I've talked to the big fellow, which was WAY COOL I'm now trying to free one much like myself and have opened his area up. I'm still not much of a fan of the dragon form or all the platform jumping. I feel those parts were made for the X-box kiddies and not for folks who played Rogue and Colossal Caves. There was one particular area where I could only live for about 30 seconds and it took me two hours to make the necessary kill in that area before dying.

I played Rogue, but didn't especially enjoy the dragon parts here (even if I did miss the point in the process!) and was rubbish at the jumping puzzles. Then again, I was rubbish at Rogue, too. I also missed a nice town to hang around: the harbour was big(-ish), but felt more like an outpost, and Aleroth was having a bad hair day. About the closest to a civilised bolt-hole was High Hall, probably because it felt like a miniaturised Broken Valley. It would have been better if it was bigger, though. Quite a lot bigger.
J'aime le fromage.
