I created a ranger just to try it out and got pretty engrossed in the game, so 3 hours later I wanted to keep my guy. However, when I made him, I just picked whatever voice since I didn't think I was going to keep him. I went with civilian but I can't help but think the voice is really annoying compared to the others. Is there a way to change this somehow?

Yep. Keep progressing and - if it's not changed from D2:ED - you'll be able to change it in the near future.

There is an illusionist in Farglow (basically you can redo the character creation step), but at least in D2:ED the next one is not available until you have the battle tower (finish off Broken Valley and Sentinel Island).

Slightly OT, but if you want "really annoying" then choose "that" City Elf voice in Dragon Age: Origins: anything you play afterwards will no longer bother you (even Two Worlds - yes, it's that bad grin )

Wait until you meet a certain monkish character, sitting at your dining table, in your Battle Tower. You'll want to have that voice for the rest of the game smile Too bad it's an NPC.
