I think i really should buy it...but then it would just get in the way of RL!

I was thinking of that...if i bought it = money i shouldn't spend, but, i wouldn't go out then. Just work and play.
But, then RR will almost be out, as well as Sacred and Lionheart.

Miss European Vacation sign ing out.

Morrowind really is one you either love or hate. The depth of the gameworld comes from (1)the history of the land (Which is found mostly in books in the game, so if you arent a reader, too bad ) (2)the detail of the graphics (From the models to the skins, everything fits), (3)and the world itself (Its sometimes just a blast to stop and look at the view).

The NPC's definatly lack (Cardboard cuttout) and the plot is so.....amorphous(?)....its hard to get involved in.

But if you can get past that and just play for the enjoyment of being part of the world (And trust me, invest that effort and it will be repaid) its like nothing else around. I have the advantage of having been familiar with the world of Tamriel since volume one, so I know a lot of the histories and cultures that makes the game atmospheric.

I really love Morrowind. I would not say its the best RPG I have ever played. There are many I love more. But not many I will play for as long.

@ Death: Why do you hate Bethesda?

Mandrake:
Do you know this site? It has awesome NPC/PC heads with lesser pollycount than the ones made by betseda.

My new model on left (422 polys), Bethesda's original head on right (502 polys).

I am a reader, yet Morrowind was INCREDIBLY borring. By doing a somewhat completely free game, you limit it. Sometimes I was lost in the game yet I didn't even want to continue. The combat was horrible. Especially when comparing to Daggerfall (Elder Scrolls 1). The graphics were atrocious with it's eye-watering NPCs and crude animations. The interface is as bad as the NWN's one. The only good thing I can say about Morrowind is that the sky was beautiful.

I dislike Betseda for many reasons: those gready b@stards, after making Morrowind, made 2 expantions most of which were ideas practically stolen from mod-community! I remember, after MW came out, the werewolf fan-made mod. Bloodmoon's werewolves look EXACTLY like those from the mod...
Also Betseda do not support games it doesn't develop: Pirates of the Caribbean, which was made by Akella and published by Betseda, did not even have a forum! Sea Dogs (the game before PotC) had a small forum without a moderator.
Pirates of the Caribbean could've been a great game if not Disney and Betseda.
"No slave-trading, no female PC, add a ghost-ship at the end, don't do that, do this..."

That is really amazing...it would be worth it to download the mods. They look a million times better. Too bad they crapped out on the characters...

Enjoy!

The original heads meant the game shipped and ran at a decent frame rate. More decent and processor intensive mods are an option for you to download.

You could turn into a werewolf in Daggerfall. How is adding that to Morrowind in a later expansion stealing an idea? Its something they had already done in a prequel edition of the game. You cant steal your own idea. Perhaps they had planned a mod with Werewolves all along?

Besides, these are just your opinions. There are lots of people who didnt like Arcanum either

*curses the moment when he said "I don't harm cats"*
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE ARCANUM?!

Joking ;0). Though the only game I hate more than Morrowind is Diablo 2, I can see your point, cat.

Actually I think that Arcanum is simply not for you, as Morrowind is not for me.

<< Big Morrowind fan (btw, I tried Arcanum, I couldn't stand it )

Thanks for the links DEATHATTHEDOOR, I usually don't use plugin's, but those faces are quite something...

The default auto-run key is Q, maybe you just hit that by accident?

I don't know why everyone thinks Morrowind is very buggy...I've only experienced one bug (blocked me from finishing a quest). That's not as many as I've experienced with DD so far...
Ah well they're both very good RPGs, those two and Zelda: A Link to the Past are my all-time favorites.

Welcome to the forum Tekmoor. Always nice to have another Morrowind fan. There are a lot of good mods that improve the look of the game, but note if you add to many the game will slow down. I have no reason for putting arhu there. Its just cute
