Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Stealing from Gero

Hello =), first post here. I've transitioned from this game after 4 years of Everquest... so have pity on me (Love this game tho!). My character is a mage who I'm transitioning into some ranger/mage hybrid (nope, this wasnt planned). Being as it may, I'm relying on bought spell books to be able to apply skill points into ranger'ish areas and charms to supliment dificient stats... in short, gold is a problem. I could remake the character, but this hardship adds a little extra to the game for me. I was wondering if anyone had found a way to steal from Gero, the guy who is in the Market Square on the east side. I cant seem to use the swap places technique or any teleporter methods as well as he seems adamant on staying in his store... I'm eyeing that ID4 sheild sitting on his table as well as those stuffed weapons lockers =). I've killed everyone in that area (didnt save), but for roleplayings sake I'd like to find another way if possible.

Let your reputation get higher, the merchants tend not to watch you so much.

Also, it is not considered stealing to place a container in your inventory, open it and drag-and-drop items into it. It is considered stealing when you remove those items, however, so make sure you are alone when you do so.

before i got all the updates , when i went in to gero's i stayed close along the wall, i guess and he didnt see me,..
cuz i walked right up to the sheild, and stuffed it!
He didnt even notice!!
musta just got lucky.... id'd it later to some royal shield or smthn

magic shield Jurak, yes, I got it, just clicked on everything in the store, u picked them all up, and then pickpocketed him of everything and anything. very good shield. like 3 charms slots, and 2 skills and stuff.
