Just a thread for my ramblings on this game. Might be interesting for devs or long time fans to see how this game registers to someone new to the divinty series.

First of I am 24 and generaly a RPG fan. Grew up playing the final fantasies, the vagrant stories and the suikedens. More recent RPG's I have enjoyed have been lost odyssey, fallout, oblivion and dragon age. I also play a bit of WoW.

I heard from a friend that Two Worlds Two was out. The first one was 'so bad it was good' to me, and with prospects of co-op with a good friend of mine I wandered into town to pick it up. I learnt that the release had been pushed back a week so with the burning desire for a new RPG I picked this up (xbox 360).

I got home, installed the game to my hard drive and eagerly fired it up. I went into settings and put it on casual (i enjoy progression in an RPG more than challenge). I had played the demos on XBL before so remembered the begining town. The animation struck me as a tiny bit off (almsot a bit like when you go 3rd person in oblivion...allthough not as bad). But I soon stopped noticing it. I came out of the town as a warrior, and progressed into unseen territory smile

After a bit of wandering around the first town, picking up some quests and habving a chat to people I wanted to crack on with some quests. I was finding it a little bit hard though as I wasnt too sure WHERE I needed to go to complete some of these. All I knew I was hungry for action, levels and progression so I wandered off down the valley and found some enemies. I enjoyed hacking my way through them, and as I got closer to their little huts I got into a battle with one of those big orb things. It was a couple of levels hgher than me but with some corner pulling to get him closer to me and a good fight I managed to down him. I then wandered closer to the burnt down chappel, unfortunatly too far and was killed by some enemies too powerfull for me. GAME OVER it said...and to my dismay the only load I had to choose from was right at the start of this zone. I lost all my progress. I turned it off and played wow.

[Minimal spoiler]
The next day I decided to pick it up again, redid all the stuff I did previous, and made sure to not rely on the auto save and started manual saving regulaly. My progression was much greater, and I ploughed through at a decent pace, enjoying myelf! When I got into the library with the ghosts, I got murdered. Time and time again I got murdered by the guards looking through the books. It was an unatural spike in difficulty, AND i was playing on casual. After lots of running there, charming a guy, running away again, rinse and repeat I finaly got through them, and solved the rest of the puzzles in that area, and turned the guy into a human. And by jove that fight was impossible. I had to stop in the end and play something else.

Later that day I decided to load it again. I left that area, and just went around areas i knew i could handly myself and murdered some enemies. By pure chance i completed some side quests in this process, and gaiand a few levels. I stocked up on potions, went back and managed to get the kill smile

Through the rest of that day, and yesterday after work ive now been progressing at a steady pace. And I have to say ive been loving it smile As of yesterday I had just done stones flying fortress (which I have to say, both fights with stone felt like a difficulty spike again. I was only 2 levels below him and I would definatly say it was not a 'casual' encounter!!)

All in all I am very glad I stuck with it, despite my early setbacks. I have got my teeth stuck in now and all I can think about is finishing work and bashing on with the game.

Some quests can lack a bit of direction and leave me mindlessly wandering, not sure if im wandering the right way, and there have been a few difficulty spikes but other than that Im very glad with my purchase!
