Hey guys. Just finished the game and the expansion for the first time, and I had a lot of fun. I do think that it was a bit too easy though. I did notice that a patch with some balancing has come out, too bad I didn't notice it beforehand. I tried to install it, but it just installed a launcher for the game and didn't do any patching as far as I can tell. Any tips on getting it to work would be appreciated if I choose to play through the game again in a few months.

I did want to share my final character and see if anyone else made one with similar power. My final weapon damage was 3675-4604 + (1223-1300) with a 94% chance to crit, with Battle Rage activated. I uploaded a video on youtube of the final boss battle on hard difficulty, just to show the true power haha.

Can't help you with the install - I played DKS on Steam so it happened automatically for me.

But there's an easy test to see if you have Patch 1 - check the difficulty slider on the options screen - if it goes up to 'Nightmare' difficulty, then you're patched. As for the rebalancing, I remember level 8 +Magic Damage on a weapon went from 70 points pre-patch to 50 points post-patch (Although level 10 remained at +100).

There was a patch 2, but it only seemed to fix compatibility issues, not change any gameplay mechanics. My 'Divinity2.exe' is currently at version 1.4.9.70, which is patch 2.

Hm, I suppose my stuff wouldn't be rebalanced then, since I had the level 10 enchantments on all my weapons. My difficulty slider only goes up to hard. I followed the link given in the forum sticky to patch my version but when I download and run it it doesn't update anything. Oh well.

Is this Ego Draconis with Flames of Vengeance installed on top of it, or Dragon Knight Saga?

Did you install the Dragon Knight Saga patch or the Flames of Vengeance patch?

Could you please try starting the launcher again? There may have been a DNS caching problem with the URL's the patcher watches, because we changed servers on Friday.

Also, at least with DKS, patch 2 fixes some serious bugs. I (& a number of others) had to send my savegame in for Larian to fix because I had not seen that there was a patch out before I started playing. I know not everyone experienced it, but if you did it was a royal pain, & pretty much stalled game play. See here for details on the bug. I was able to install the patch mid-game, and once I had my fixed savegame back, I did not encounter any more problems.
