Is this really the way the game is? If my character has any other weapon equipped (or none at all) he can only jump straight up or do sideways rolls. I find this to be a bit of a nuisance as I use double swords mostly and so I constantly have to pause my game and switch to my bow every time I need to do a forward jump. Where this feature of the game becomes completely ridiculous is when I'm in a fight with multiple foes and there are tree branches obscuring the view of the fight and I can't jump out of the way. So in essence I am just blindly clicking my mouse and hoping for the best. Is this just the way the game is or a bug with my copy? When I first began playing I thought, "Well this is stupid. There's no way to jump forward. Oh well." Then I acquired my first bow and could then do jumping somersaults but I read the best way to do the platform challenges is with no weapon equipped. I read through the manual and it doesn't mention anything about this feature.

That's a strange bug. It is not supposed to be like that, I can assure you.

I didn't think so. I got my copy from Direct2Drive. I think I'll move my savegames somewhere and try re-installing. Thanks Stabbey.

Okay, I got it figured out. I am playing on PC with a Belkin n52te gamepad and am using the thumb button for jumping. By default the thumb button is actually the "L-Alt" key but when I mapped the button to jump in DKS it called it the "Left Context Menu" button. So in DKS I mapped the "M" key to the jump function and mapped the "M" key to the thumb button on the controller and it works like it should. I can now jump like everyone else. In fact I am jumping for joy. That is really weird that it worked fine only when the bow was equipped. Anyways, fixed now.
