This will probably turn out to be operator errror as usual, but I've beefed up Harry, the runner who fetches herbs, with the best weapon and armour he can have and still he gets wounded and fails EVERY time I send him out. Not joking, either. He hasn't brought me back one stinking plant, not even a dandelion or buttercup.

Last time I played this game it was the vanilla version of DD2; this time it's the Saga edition that includes the expansion. In my previous game, the runners almost never failed once they were properly equipped. What gives?

Hmm... or it's really bad luck or it's bug.

Does it make a difference if you send Harry out alone vs sending all three of them?

Try sending just the other 2 out for malachite ore and diamonds a couple times, then send Harry for ginseng, or whatever.


I don't recall anyone else reporting this in the forum... Try emailing support@larian.com (see the DKS support page), with a description of the problem and maybe a link to this post.

It sounds like something's wrong - I'm also playing DKS, and he only fails about one time out of five with best equipment.

My game was definitely bugged, though I don't know if this was related. The enemies on the fortress platforms were invisible and would not attack. I downloaded the latest patch and all of this has been fixed, so who knows? Or maybe it was just random. My other runners are now doing fine with just basic armour and second-grade weapons.
