hey!

i guess i could say that this game is sweet as honey. i mean, afterall those hassles figuring out how to install the game(thanks again to those kind souls) six months after buying it, and finally being able to lick it, taste it, play it, too much....

anyway, i guess just like honey, it taste good for a while after taking in so much, it starts to taste awfull. i installed the game on the 20th and had a wonderful day and a half playing it, then suddenly i got all these weird crashes. i tried experimenting on the config to find a setting which would eliminate or reduce the crashes but to no avail. i deleted the contents of the "default folder" to no avail. i tried creating a new character just to see if my former character just hit some but bug in the game but i got the same weird crashes. really i don't know what's wrong, i didn't do anything to my pc that might constitute "the why" of these weird crashes. i'm just hoping that installing the patch 1.34 would eliminate the problem.

do help, i'm really starting to like this game.

pc specs:
P3 733mhz
40gb hdd/128 mem
inno 3d geforce2 mx 400 video card
soundblaster live! sound card

Installing the patch should (hopefully) help. If not, check out Larian's Technical Support FAQ and the first part of the Troubleshooting and Manual Install Procedure topic (though you probably tried those suggestions already).

alrighty then. i have done all those things listed or suggested in the manual and on the board. yet i'm still having those damn freaking crashes. my pc, as far as i can tell before i installed DD is up to date.

i first encountered a crash when i was about to be shown how the ressurection device in the catacombs works like; i follow this skeleton around so he could show me how the device works and just as the skeleton pulls the lever, boom crash.

but i already finished the catacombs and i'm exploring the woods. and the even weirder or freakier thing here is that when i fight, the game crashes; and if i open a container, the game crashes.

the patch? well it didn't do a thing to brighten up my gaming day. and reinstalling the game either is not working to alleviate my present state of discomfort towards the game.

one other thing, does DD somehow uses the same game engine or somewhat similar engine to that being used in the baldur's gate series or neverwinter's night? just asking cuz i had some weird crashes too with those games.

does anyone have any suggestion?

Divinity uses its own game engine, developed by Larian.

Do you get crashes in any other programs (anything that uses a lot of resources), or just games?

just games.

i think i might just have awaken a bug with this character.

i just started a new character and so far the game is calming it self and being stable (keeping me fingers crossed the game stays that way. i'm already in that part where my former character kept trashing or crashing the game.
