Hi again,
I can't get passed the lava,in the Sinister Cavern. It's the path that leads to a Transporter. I retrieved the key from the window ledge but can't seem to jump well enough to get to the platform at the first level. I was here before and maybe I did something to move the platform to far away.
The hidden Amulet I need is beneath Aleroth but I don't find any to get there.
Thanks, TigerJim

Before heading to the Hall of Echoes there are limited places you can go in Aleroth (pretty much a straight path to the ministry and the plaza / merchants in front of that building). I don't know if an amulet was added in DKS, but assume it would be in the FoV section of the game. From the D2:ED walkthrough (should be the same in DKS, AFAIK); -Accessing Barnabus requires taking the teleporter on the northeast side of the bottom of the room. Inside, you must navigate a platform maze to disable a generator. See below for step-by-step directions. 1: leap across a series of falling platforms 2: climb the ladder 3: use the moving platform to access a lever that activates a teleporter 4: Drop down and take the teleporter 5: navigate several more moving platforms, then climb another ladder 6: time your next jump carefully - the next platform also sinks 7: jump from the sinking platform to another moving platform 8: jump up to another teleporter and step inside 9: hop down a series of platforms in the corners of the room 10: flip the lever 11: wait for a moving platform to emerge from by the door, then jump against the wall and fall onto it. Good kitty. Sinister Cavernjumping

I have a question about Barnubus cave - I went ahead and turned off the two forcefields, but mostly that's because I'm a bit of a completionist, particularly in this game it seems that you'll miss some cool loot if you don't do everying.
Couldn't you just fly to barnubus platform, position yourself above the anti-dragon field, then morph to human so you fall through the field and onto his platform, then defeat him? Is there any reason you must turn off the shields?

That isn't an anti-dragon shield (though it may cause damage if you fly into it). You can get inside as a human and attack Barnabus, but will not last very long; after a couple seconds you start taking a fair amount of fire (IIRC) damage.

It looks like I am stuck in several places. I can't jump across the lava to get to the platform in front of the teleporter in the first level of Sinister Cave. It seems imperative that I get to and do away with Barnabus to complete 3 separate Quests, is there any way to kill Barnabus and continue the game without completing the platform sequence? Next I can't find a way to disable the generators that support the Dragon shield at the Zeppelin hanger or the one covering High Hall. Next I also can't seem to defeat the mobs in the 3rd faze at the Aleroth ministry. Also I have never found a way to enter Rivertown. I know I'm asking a lot and thank you in advance. TigerJim

TigerJim: If what Raze said is true about the shield doing fire damage to you until you turn it off, you probably have to turn off the shield if you want to kill Barnabus. I don't think killing him is really required to complete the game, except to the extent that it's needed to complete other quests which might give you useful rewards.
What part, exactly, about the jumping puzzle are you having a hard time with? Is it the part where you have to jump on the platforms which start to sink when you jump on them, and you aren't able to get the timing right?
As for the dragon sheilds at the Zeppelin Hanger or High Hall, I don't think you can turn those off, but you really don't need to become a dragon in those areas anyhow.
I'm not sure, but I *think* the reason those areas have the shields is that, at least notionally, although a lot of people seem to know you are the Dragon Knight in this game, not EVERYONE does. You are trying to stay 'incongito' when you are at the Harbor and High Hall, because if you didn't, they'd probably sic the Slayers on you (there's a Slayer training camp right next to the harbor, and they aren't supposed to know you are a Dragon).
So, from a roleplay perspective, it doesn't make sense for you to take Dragon Form right in the middle of populated areas where everyone can see you.
The Aleroth ministry can be challenging. Perhaps you need to adjust your character build/retrain? Maybe you just need to level up and come back later to try it again (I'm not sure what level you are)? Perhaps a few potions can help?
I don't believe you actually can enter Rivertown.

You need to disable the generators in order to get to Barnabus. Here is a Youtube video of someone doing that part in D2:ED, starting at 3 minutes in for the platform section. As Lucreel said, there is no way to disable the anti-dragon shields around the harbour or High Hall, and no way to enter Rivertown (the only thing in Rivertown Gorge is the flying fortress). Try the ministry again at a higher level, and/or when you have better equipment and can do damage faster. In D2:ED I stood a little in front of Zandalor to cover the two front rifts, occasionally having to Rush Attack a memory eater from the rift in the back. I attacked opponents from the front rifts with a bow first, which didn't do a great deal of damage (didn't invest in any ranger skills), but it did help draw opponents to me, rather than have them go directly to Zandalor. My creature (with a mage head) did a pretty good job of taking care of creatures from the left rift. A demon summon (etc) should help, as well, if you have the skill or the points to try it. I was level 35 or 36 when I did that section, one of the final things before heading to the Hall of Echoes (duel wielding maxed, level 10 Bleed, etc).

Thank you Raze & Lucreel,
The part of Sinister Cave I am having the trouble with is near the beginning of the platform trial, After you get the key from the window ledge and want to get on the first platform, the space seems to be very wide and I can't seem to jump that far.
Now I know that you cannot go to Rivertown.
I'm at level 34.
Thanks again, TigerJim

You can not go directly to the generator; head left at the T intersection. Check out the video; he has to restart/reload a couple times, but it will show you what you need to do to disable the generator.

I'll go back and work in the ministry again I know how to summon my creature but I have not figured out how to summon a Ghost or Demon, is there a special key to summon them? all in all I have come a long way and am sitting 34.
I'll also go back to the Sinister cave, I finally got passed the open lava area.
Thanks, TigerJim

Both the Summon Demon and Summon Ghost spells are in the Priest category in the skill list. The ghost one is at the top right IIRC (level 1 requirement), while the demon is near the bottom (level 20 or so requirement). The ghost can heal you and I think occasionally casts a fireball spell, while the demon is reportedly the best summon for combat.

Okay I take it only priests can summon them, that makes winning the battle in the ministry in Aleroth really difficult. Thanks, TigerJim

You can learn any skills you wish, if you meet the level requirements. Your choice of class at the start of the game only effects your initial stat point distribution and bonus skill level; it doesn't restrict any later skills, quests, equipment, etc.

Assign the summon skill to a button/hotkey, or pause the game and cast the spell that way. On the Xbox, when paused you can hit a shoulder button to bring up a menu (similar to assigning button functions) where you can drink potions or cast any spells that do not need a target (at least that was a restriction in D2:ED).

I have finally gotten past the Sinister Cave. Took a steady hand. Thank you for telling me how to set the skill to the button. It looks like I made a major mistake in assigning my skill points, I did realize that you could assign them out of class. didn't understand it when I read that instruction. Is there any other way to build up my skills for summoning the Undead, demons and ghosts? I did manage to get the Undead loaded to a hot key. I did go back to the Battle Tower and I did train for the Undead but I don't think it improved my status. Thanks again for all of your help, it made a world of difference now I'll go back to the ministry and see if can make any progress there. TigerJim

The battle tower trainer will raise the level cap of your skills, but does not improve them directly; you sill need to put more skill points in yourself.
The trainer can also allow you to unlearn all of your skills (the slayer skills that start on level 1 will go back to that level), which you can then re-apply as you wish. The cost for doing so doubles each time, but at least in D2:ED there was plenty of gold available, which could let you reskill up to 4 times, or so (most who took advantage of that option only did so once or twice).
You can only have one summon active at a time, and after you can learn the healing spell (level 15 IIRC) I'm not sure if you would still need the ghost. The demon is stronger than the undead summon.
The Summon Mastery skill increases the power of your summons, but I don't know what form of boost(s) it provides.

Thanks again for your excellent help. I finally got through the Ministry. Can I now find a way to enter the city of Aleroth and explore or do I have to go the Hall of Echoes first?

You can make your way into Aleroth before you enter the Hall of Echoes (using the Zeppelin that you repaired), but you'll only have access to a small part of the city. To fully open up the city of Aleroth, you'll have to do the Hall of Echoes first - but you won't be able to return to Orobas afetrwards. Make sure you've finished everything in Orobas and (the now gas-filled) Broken Valley before you proceed to the Hall of Echoes...
