Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Unable to free Penumbra

OK, I tried to free Penumbra from the Thieves guild a long time ago, but was unsuccessful. I’m to the point now where I only have a couple of open quests left, and the demon summoning is one of them.

The problem I have is getting the guard (Leondric) to leave his post so I can use the key. I have talked to him over and over, and walked down every hallway, but he never leaves to ‘relieve’ himself. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong.

Anyway, I’m to the point where I just want to get this quest over with. If I try and open the door, he attacks me and I kill him. None of the thieves in the immediate area seem to care, and my reputation doesn’t drop. What are the negatives to killing Leondric? I’d hate to go down this route only to find that I’ve screwed up other quests further down the road.

I had the same problem, soo.... freeze x 1 and elemental arrow x 3 put him to "rest". Didnt take a reputation hit, freed her, did the necesary dialog and she gave me a kiss and went about her way.

don't need freeze, just open the door, he comes and shoot spells up his [nocando] and he is dead...

just go into the door from the right of him. whan entering that chamber , he will leave!

I tried the right doorway. He didn't leave.

Anyway, it looks like it's OK to kill him, so I'll probably have to do that. I really hate killing someone I don't have to, though.

Did anyone try using the invisibility potion here? Every place where I've tried using the invisibility potion it has failed. And now I can't remember where I stashed the potion.
