A question of Skill Books

I have just begun touring the various flying fortresses, starting with Kali's. She went down with a little persuasion, yielding up among other things a really nice sword, which I later had to give to Hermosa to enable a further uppgrade of my training room.

This didn't bother me, since I know from a walkthrough (I think it's Legionangel's; excellent guide by the way!) that while Hermosa nicks the sword, she does let me keep the Skillbook of all skill books; one that reputedly will give me five skill points in one go. I'd rather have the book than the sword!

I did not find that skill book in Kali's fortress, however. Did I miss it? Or is it stashed somewhere else? (I did find a book called "Demon Wars" which I can't put to any use at the moment.)

Upgrading my workshop

I recently got Radcliff his Goblin Stone or whatever from the wreck at the Rivertown gorge. Sassan then asked me whether I wanted to upgrade the enchanting quality of weapons, armours or jewelry. I answered "weapons" the first time she asked, but had no way of knowing if anything had changed. And when Sassan later asked me the same question again. I answered "weapons" the second time as well. Now she doesn't ask me anymore. What happened, here? Did I just upgrade my weapon enchantment twice?

Where do I find Aurelius?

While exploring the fjords from the air, I flew over a rather large goblin village, and they started shooting at me. So I toasted the little buggers (well, their ballistas and most of their smelly huts, anyway). And then I heard that a Champion guy named Aurelius would be happy to give me money for doing this, and killing the goblin leader Svadilfari, if I can find him. But I can't even find Aurelius!

There is a shut off part in the Harbour in Orobas Fjords, that I - not being a Champion - can't get into. Is Aurelius there? If so, how do I get in? Or am I missing something?

I think Demon Wars is the book you want. Right-click it and select "Use".

Yes, your weapon enchanting was upgraded twice and now uses two less ingredients.

Aurelius is in one of the little shacks inside the harbour, closest to the stairs you can't get into.

Good about Aurelius, bad about the wasted armour enchantment upgrade. I hope it won't cripple me later on?

The book might be a problem. I can select the book "Demon Wars" from my inventory, and there is a "Use" option, but nothing seems to happen when I click it (I play the game on Xbox, by the way). Shouldn't the book disappear when I use it, like a regular skill book? I don't think I just got five extra skill points - I have six to spend, but I had a few saved up from before.'

Correction: The book is NOT a problem. The cut scene and skill boost just didn't kick in the first time I tried to read it. Because I was a dragon at the time... and flying... yeah, I can see the practical problems with that.

Thanks for the help!

P.S the boost was three points, not five.

You won't be crippled, no.

The bonus was reduced from 5 to 3 for DKS.

Still not enough to avoid making Kenneth a clearly inferior choice, unfortunately.

Ehm... you can just murder her and take the book (and sword) without the quest, right?

Yes, you can get most quest items before getting the relevant quest, and most of the loot for the battle tower servant quests will be there whichever servant you pick.

The exception is Stone's Ring, which Igor demands, and which only shows up on Stone's body if you have Igor as your necromancer.
