That's your problem. You see the thing is you should do a focus build. Focus on either archer, warrior or mage. That is your best bet for the game.

Focus your stat points into vitality and your one major stat for whatever build your going through. So if your a mage, Intelligence and Vitality with some points into spirit to increase your overall mana pool. Let your armor take care of the rest for attack resistances to ranged and melee.

If doing archer, go Dexterity and vitality.

Warrior, Vitality and strength.

That's what you need to do. you also need to buy lots of powerful heal potions and spam those like crazy. For abilities you should put at least 5 points into regenerate, a warrior skill no matter what build you have. It helps your health regenerate while in battle.

There is no special battle strategy for taking out Ygerna end game battle.

At no offence to Heather, who poses a solid build route, at lvl 42 there is not a lot that can be done
about the stats at this point. You have to go with what you got. Having a balanced stat character is a very viable build to fit a lot of play styles, and is sometimes suggested to those that are new to the game, and not sure what direction they want to go. That way they can have the option to go any one direction or a hybrid, at any point. I personally don't put a lot more than 10 vit and 5 spr.

And that's exactly what I do *not* like of action games.

That's why I *clearly* prefer story-driven games - which no-one does nowadays, by the way.
EVERYONE things that action RPGs are THE height of the whole genre !

@Paro - you can't do anything about your stats, but you should be able to make it through with a non-specialised character.

But you might be able to improve your equpiment. 200+ does not seem like much damage at level 42 - my (admitedly damage focused) mage could easily do 5,000+ with a single spell by level 40+. With a melee focused character such as yours, I'd expect you to be doing 1-3k per attack (depending on the size and speed of your weapon).

You've probably done a lot of these already, but if not, try them:
- Swith difficulty to 'Easy'.
- Use 4 malachite gems to cast +100 health on each of your four armour pieces (+400 health total).
- Swith to dual wielding (retrain skills so you're maxed out in dual wield) - it does more damage than sword and shield or 2-handed
- Enhcant both your dual wield weapons with +100 physical and +100 magic damage. This will take 4 malachite gems, but will give you +800 damage per attack due to each enchant affecting both weapons.
- rearrange your buffs and charms as much as possible to maximise strength (for the melee damage bonus it gives).
- Stock up on potions, particularly healing, strength and any protection-style potions.

@AlrikFassbauer - So is DKS a 'story driven' RPG? If not, then what is, a game without combat at all? That's called a 'point and click' adventure. In fact, I'd say that being able to specialise (and getting advantages as a result) makes the story more interesting - you feel your character is a more unique reflection of your personality and play style, instead of just another generic hero.

paro, you are not being specific for us to be a lot of help. I need the actual numbers. Get a piece of paper and a pencil and write them down.

I will point out that it does seem like heather is right. You should have at least one of your offensive attributes at 100 by the final boss fight, ESPECIALLY if you have completed one of the ultimate sets. From my experiments with Unarmed, I think that weapon damage is based more on your attribute than your weapon.

A lot of my advice depends on you having at least 8 malachite gems spare, as well as a good collection of level 10 enchants, but either way, best of luck!

As Stabbey said, let us know more details and we'll be happy to help as much as we can...

I went through ED 3 times, 2 of which had evenly balanced stats. Granted the issue at hand is the final boss of FOV, but pound for pound it is comparable at any lvl. Trippy is right, to suggest maxing out every thing on armor and two weapons as much as possible. If you have balanced weapons, and a str and intel of 65, you are going to be doing increased dam from mel and mag. When it comes down to it dam is dam, either mel or mag. They both do the same thing, and with both stats at 65 you should be doing the same if not more than a strict mel or mag weapon.(IMO)

@Stabbey: As far as my post I think you are just wound a little to tight...

Well yes, that would be a problem when trying to fight enemies who are 10+ levels higher.

You can buy new weapons from the merchants. The women who sells weapons and fish in the Great Market, the Goblin merchant in Lanilor Lane, and Mysus and Albetza in Lanilor Lane if they are still open for business. All of them should have unique (Gold) weapons for sale which are the best in the game.

If you need more gold send your runners off to find Malachite and Diamonds. Repeat several times to get several thousand worth of free stuff to sell.

You just need another one handed weapon (use whatever your second best weapon is in your off hand).

By default equipping a one handed weapon always puts it in your main hand. Select your off hand in the inventory to equip a second weapon (in the Xbox version, select your off hand, on the right of the character model, hit A to display a list of one handed weapons, then select one and hit A again to equip it).
