Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Battle in Well Cave

I've been playing this repeatedly and can't beat it even on Easy. The problem is not necessarily one of tactics but rather that the spell effects are preventing me from seeing anything,and they slow my framerate so badly that I can't relly control the fight. I can kill the boss but then all of the minions keep getting me. I know there is a Nest Tower because I can target it, but I can't actually see where it is because of the spell effects. I would dearly love to get this done.Is there a way to turn the spell effects off?

Alternatively, any suggestions on tactics? I blasted through this fight on the first try in my first game, playing the original version, but on the Dragon Knight Saga edition everything is far more difficult and this battle is nigh impossible even with healing potions, Dragon Shield and a maxed out healing spell.

Did you try flying up blindly and hoping to get close enough to the exit to transform back to human? Even if you jumped off the ledge again to take out the rest of the opponents there, you should have the first second or so clear.

Did you try lowering the resolution and all the graphics settings to see if that would help keep your framerate from dropping? I don't know if there is a way to disable the spell effects. Maybe lowering the frame rate cap would force the game to do so, or disabling HDR lighting would lower their impact, or something.

Is the OP talking about PC?

Most likely... I don't recall this being mentioned for the Xbox version, anyway. Someone else did recently report a problem on PC with that encounter (here), which might be related to Hagatha's issue.
