I finished Divinity II last year. In the meantime, I installed Windows 7 and lost all my save games. Do I have to have a saved game from the first game to be able to play The Dragon Knight Saga? Or do I have to play that whole Divinity II through again?

I guess my question should be: Is Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga just Divinity II remastered? With the added Flames of Vengeance?

Actually, you would not have been able to load the D2:ED saves in DKS, anyway (there were too many changes made to maintain saved game compatibility). They would have been compatible with the add-on installed, and when you were done with that character you could have installed a D2:ED+FoV to DKS conversion patch, if you wanted to play the remasted D2:ED with a different build.

With DKS, you can either start in Farglow again, or create a level 35 character at the beginning of the FoV section of the game.
