Since yesterday, there has been an issue for Steam and Divinity 2. Not Steam and other games, ONLY Divinity 2. Doing anything else on Steam seems to work.

Whenever you try and launch the game, you get the message "Steam Servers are too busy to handle your request." You need to go into Offline Mode to get the game to start. No other attempted fixes work.

Worse yet, people who bought the game since yesterday are unable to download it.

So if I were you, Larian, I'd get the Steam people on the phone really quickly to find out what's going on.

Just started the game with my own Steam copy and everything was fine. Might this have been a temporary issue? Or do you still experience the same problem?

Edit: I had a look at the link you gave and it does seem to be bothering a lot of people. I'll notify QA as soon as they arrive at the office.

Last night it wasn't working in online mode, but this morning they seem to have fixed it and it is working again in online mode.

Hello everyone,

We apologize for this inconvenience.

We have contacted Steam to check what the problem is and how to fix this quickly.
Hopefully we can offer a solution pretty soon.

All the best,
Lynn

@Stabbey: can you please try it again? Apparently it's not successful for everyone.

Thank you,
Lynn

They're right. It's not working in online mode anymore. It was this morning briefly, but not at the moment.

We are looking into this, our publisher is now in contact with Steam. The issue is not at our end, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't get fixed.

But there is a (manual) fix by executing Divinity2.exe application file from the game folder. Can you try this? In any case, we are looking to resolve this issue soon.

Hey, I am also having the same problem as everyone else. I purchased the game last Sunday and steam will not let me download it.
~I can download and run all other games just fine
~I have changed my download regions to many different things and none worked
~It does do some of the prep work when I try and download it. It creates a folder in steam/commonapps and it appears in windows programs. However, there are no other files.

No, it won't work, unfortunately... Apparently the issue is only with Divinity II frown
Hopefully Steam can offer you a fix tomorrow. We'll keep you posted.

Valve has fixed the issue but you must delete the file ClientRegistry.blob located in the Steam folder first:

Do not run Steam.
Open the Steam folder and delete ClientRegistry.blob file.
Run Steam.
Now you can download and install Divinity 2 The Dragon Knight Saga.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

"No Steam content servers are currently are currently configured to deliver content for this game. This will be corrected soon. Please try again in a few minutes."

This is AFTER deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file and restarting Steam. This has not been fixed.

This was a one time update issue for the German version of DKS, see news:

"Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga is now available in German.

Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga nun auf Deutsch !

Your version should already be working again. We apologize for any inconvenience.

First-time download on a new machine is still not working for me, I get the "no content servers are currently configured" repeatedly. Download of Mass Effect 2 on the same machine works, anddownload of Div2 on a diferent machine also worked a couple of days ago.

There is indeed a problem with new installs only of the English version. We are looking into it and have notified Steam.

All other languages are working. There seems to be a problem on Steam's end with the English language package. People who have already installed the game in English should not have a problem though. Only new installs are affected.

We hope to resolve this as soon as possible.

My already existing English install thinks there's a new update and it's trying to download it. Is that because a new German-Language pack is available for the english version?

It's not really a problem, I wasn't intending to play the game at this moment.

This should have been fixed over the weekend. If there are any issues with your steam versions, don't hesitate to post it here or contact us.
