Okay, there are two houses with areas that i can't get to- 1> Ricky's House (he asks you to get his mothers amulet from their house in Crow's Nest)... as you enter the house, some 'suspicious people' come running out of the hallway screaming about the undead. Straight ahead from the entrance is a gated room- of which the gate doesn't even register as being there- and when i turn around, i get zapped.
2> Luxurius' House- there's a locked chest in his 'lovenest' and a blocked room.
simple question- How do I get into those area's? (and likewise, open the aforementioned chest). I have Taurus' (lousy 2-enchantment) bracelet if that helps...

1) There's a switch on the wall in the bedroom. It took me forever to find it as well, so don't feel bad.
2) Press the switch in the fountain which changes the lighting. Then walk around and look for three more switches highlighted with bright blue light. The locked chest can't be opened without turning in Tom's finger to the guard at the front.

Well, it definitively helps solving all of the riddles if you're an experienced adventurte games player - andnot only an (action-) RPG player.
Although ... Once, a decade or even more ago, riddles were THE point on role-playing games !
That changed massively through Blizzard et. al. , though ... To the worse.
No-one does riddles anymore. You do find riddles only in adventure games nowadays.
Even the LucasArts shooter called "Dark Forces" had a few quite good riddles in it !
The (heavy) influence of the Action-RPG genre is - sadly - that PGs turn more and more into combat-only ... The peak is currently being reached with Mass Effect 3, which will most likely be nothing but a shooter with RPG elements in it ... From what I read ...
I call this the "shooterisation of the RPG genre". Everything transforms more and more into ashooters - because shooters sell just best - leaving the shooter genre as the mot prominent game genre on the PC platform ... And the PC as a gaming platform being more and more devoid of other genres, of fresh ideas, of creativity - and, most importantly : Of Diversity !
"PC gaming isd dead" means to me nothing but : Vast domination of a few genres, masses of sequels (and/or prequels), lack of diversity, lack of creativity ...
So, the bottom line is - that I applad to Larian Studios to still maintain a quite high level of creativity.
Which for example shows in the fact that they put riddles into their action-based RPGs .

Hi, take it simple, I will say to all of you who don't like the "shooterisation of the RPG genre" : simply totally ignore all that is about "shooter" and in particular all "shooterisation-ed RPG's" !! & fully support a creative Larian Team that is currently making a few new RPG's ! I'm sure I gonna love them all (especially RPG's, with also many good puzzles/riddles, secrets, hidden items etc etc ... )
On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin, it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

There are only two highlighted switches in my game. There is definitey supposed to be a third one, because those two don't deactivate the force field. Any ideas?

I'm just going from memory, but I think there's one by the bed, one on a wall in the hot tub, and one on a wall near the rear door.

More specifically (had to load an old save to jog my memory about the third one, which turned out to be the brightest lighted and most obvious);
- on a post by the fountain, between the two sets of stairs into the fountain
- on the edge of the left nightstand beside the bed (the right nightstand has a candle holder on it)
- near Luxurius' house door, on the outside corner post of the cell

The first and the third in your list, Raze, are ridiculously easy to spot because they are really brightly lit. The second one is barely highlighted. I don't like that kind of inconsistency.

No, what follows from my post is that all three buttons should be highlighted in the same way. If the first two buttons are brightly highlighted the third should too. And if they are not then the last one shouldn't either. They should be consistent!

it's simple the 2 were brightly highlighted to let youknow what you were looking for. If they were all easy to spot then there would be no point to it.
