Thanks for your help.

Yes, the armor looks better and gameplay is more balanced. Some areas in the game have changed completely.

On the PC, D2:ED saves are compatible with FoV (available as a digital download only), and playing the game there is a seamless transition into the add-on. After finishing your current character, there is a patch to convert D2:ED+FoV into DKS.

Larian couldn't get FoV published by itself on the Xbox, so the only option there is to start from the beginning in DKS, or create a new level 35 character at the start of the add-on.

There were too many changes made in DKS to maintain saved game compatibility with D2:ED (redesigned flying fortresses, changes to enemy placement and loot, etc).

I was wondering about this I do not yet have the New Remastered Version of this game Also knowing that you know i only have ED not DKS Also I play on the XBox.

Now from what I have "HEARD" (The validity of these claims are not known to me to be true or not) is that in DKS you can use your character from ED and advance further? Is this poissible or is it a rumor? if it is true what about people like me who played on the original version of ED, I wish i had the better version although I cannot afford it although IDK If DKS is a new game (as you are supposed to start new I may buy the new version)

I have only one pet peeve when it comes to the original version of ED is the directional pad is touchy and since i use it for potions it can suck since pressing up can cause it to trigger right or left if its not pressed PERFECTLY. The only other thing (which may be the same for the newer version) is when jumping if you get overzealous and press the left stick too hard you draw your weapons and drop at that second and you do not complete the jump, this tends to happen to me on the last few jumps when required (especially timed jumps ie disappearing blocks or moving blocks)

Thanks in advance for any information as I am half way done with ED and thinking out DKS but IDK yet.

I will tell you I will be PRE Ordering SKYRIM and maybe DKS will hold me over as once i finish this it will be like end of gaming for a bit. (or i will buy DKS or play some other games like The Witcher 2 or Two Worlds II or Gothic)

Who knows

DKS is the combined remastered D2:ED together with the FoV add-on. Much of the content of the D2:ED section of DKS is the same as the original release of D2:ED, but there were also a lot of changes (improved graphics, better inventory from merchants, changes to opponent placement and loot, changes to enchantments so they are available earlier and have more of an effect, etc). If you don't want to try another build to play through the remastered D2:ED, though, you can also start a new level 35 character at the beginning of the add-on.

Your character/save from the original release can not be used or imported into DKS. The balancing changes mean you should be able to progress faster at the start of the game compared to D2:ED (you can be a level or two higher when you get access to the full Broken Valley, which was a difficulty jump in the original release if you tried going after the skeletons around the tower before the goblin areas and derelict tunnels).

I use the direction pad for mostly non-critical actions (summon creature, dragon stone, dragon morph stone and the healing spell), though have occasionally hit the wrong direction (a couple times in flying fortresses I transformed in dragon form rather than healing; once I was high enough I could transform back, once I wasn't and died).
For potions I pause the game (or use the low hit point auto-pause) and hit a shoulder button to bring up a menu to select one (or an item, or skill that doesn't need a target).

The left stick button is the same in DKS. IMNSHO it should only toggle combat mode if the stick is centred when pressed. Playing a ranger in DKS I sometimes had a bit of a problem in hectic combat early in the game trying to jump and dodge (wasn't an issue in D2:ED playing a warrior), but mid game rarely have an issue (I don't need to dodge as much, changed my technique and have probably just gotten used to the difference).
