Hello: I've experienced what I think is a little glitch in the game. Maybe there's a fix for it out there. I've noticed that when I moved to the game, Flames of Vengence, the ratio for the kills are much higher, ex. 3500 points . The problem is, that when I have a kill, it is not being added to the counter that allows you to go up to the next level! I've played the game about 15 times and it only happens when I finish the Halls of Echoes sequence. When I get to Aleroth the counter seems to freeze for a long time.

Is this a normal response for the game?

And if so is there a fix or patch to fix this problem?

Please help! If anyone has any information on this problem, please reply. Thank you geminii1952

Yeah, Hall of Echo/FoV mindreads probably took your depth sky-high.

Please explain! What has mindreading have to do with this? I don't understand. Are you telling me not to mindread? Is this a problem with the game? My xp is real high (2156879), but the game froze at level 35.

There is no problem, and you do not need to avoid mindreading.
When you mindread, it costs you a certain amount of experience points (that can be reduced by investing in the Mindread skill), which is displayed in the stats as a debt. Any new experience gained from quests or defeating opponents goes to paying off the debt first (several areas in FoV have respawning opponents), and then to raising your experience level. Generally the experience cost is proportional to the reward, so not very useful mindreads (that provide atmosphere or humour) are relatively cheap compared to the experience from opponents in the area, mindreads that get a merchant to drop their prices or an NPC to reveal a storage password for loot are higher, while stat or skill bonus mindreads are fairly expensive (but well worth the cost).
