Hi everyone,

If this problem is already discussed somewhere else, so move this post can be moved.

I am playing the PC version of Ego Draconis (win7).

At the moment I am in Orobas Fjords and trying to solve every side quests before I start the main quest. So I went to Stone's Fortress and cleared it (incl. Stone himself).
When I got out of the Fortress into Orobas Fjords I was not able to activate the dragon stone any more (for teleporting to battle tower). The "Dragon Polymorph Stone" still works.
When I reloaded a savegame (timepoint: before I entered the fortress) I can use the Dragon Stone.

So I am asking all of you:
Have you also had the same problem?
Is there a particular patch available which fix this problem?
Is there a solution?

I want to say thank you in advance for answering my question!
Cheers!

Depending on which release you have, there may be a patch for the game (check here), but there have not been any recent patches, and AFAIK not for this specific issue.

It is likely the dragon stone will start working again on its own, the next time you start or complete a main plot quest (one person had it start working again after they got the seeds quest in the cave under the waterfall), or after the next time you encounter a boss fight where it gets disabled and enabled.

Do you have any saves inside the fortress, before you killed Stone (or after that but before leaving)? Entering the arena likely disabled the dragon stone, but it should be enabled again as soon as the fight is over.

Did you defeat Xanlosch and Isabelle? Did you pick up all the loot there and in the arena?

Did you get the invoker jewel from the chest in the arena? If so, and you did not try using the 4 invoker jewels earlier in the headquarters, maybe return to the headquarters, grab the 4 jewels and use them to disabled the machinery there spawning walking armours. Doing it that way will produce a chest with some random loot.
This shouldn't have anything to do with the dragon stone being disabled, but maybe doing something else in the headquarters (if you didn't previously use any invoker jewels) will trigger a reset.

Try teleprting to the battle tower (master's chambers) and see if you can use the teleport feature there to go do a different platform. If not, take the door to the skill trainer platform (as you did before getting the dragon stone) and see if walking back to the entrance brings up the teleport menu. Don't save there if you have a problem, though, just reload your last save.

Did you try switching regions a couple times (to Broken Valley or Aleroth and then back to the fjords)? That could conceivably get the stone working (probably not, but worth a shot if there are no main plot quests you can quickly get or complete).

If you can not get it working, try emailing support@larian.com, with a description of the problem and maybe a link to this topic. A couple people ended up with disabled dragon stones after falling through the hatch in the bunker at the start of the fjords, and not being able to climb back up, but Larian fixed the saves to put the characters back in the bunker to finish the fight.

In Vista / Win 7 the saves are in the folder below. You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (see here).

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

Hello Raze,

thank you for your quick and detailed answer!
smile
I have not updated the game with the latest patch, so actually I am playing with the 1.0.12.44 version of the game.

To your questions:
yes, I defeated Xanlosch and Isabelle before I went to Stone and I took the treasures from them.
After defeating Stone and when I realised that the stone did not work, running back into the arena did not trigger the activation of the dragon stone.

As far as I can remember I looted everything in the arena, as my inventory was full, I put some stuff directly 'to Battle tower' by the drop down menue.(Maybe this was a mistake?)

After defeating Stone I was also not able to open the four gates at the other end of the arena. I got this invoker jewel after the battle in the arena . Previously, I used the four jewels to stop the spawning of those walking armours which worked well.
Neither teleporting to my battle tower via 'normal' teleporter did not activate the stone nor running to Broken Valley and back (tried several times).
My avatar also had a quick chat with Hermimosa in my training arena, but this also did not trigger the activation of the dragon stone.

As my avatar has not began the main quest of Orobas fjords (getting the seeds, etc. ), I will work this out.
Seems in the end that this is Stone's last revenge wink

If there is any other idea, don't hesitate to reply to my message.

Sending stuff to your battle tower shouldn't have been a problem. I was thinking that if you left the loot bag from Stone there, maybe grabbing it would update something (if you picked Igor as your necromancer Stone will drop a ring he wants for one of the platform quests).

The gates in the arena can not be opened (presumably they are the cages where the rest of the opponents you faced were kept).

I also used the first 4 invoker jewels in the headquarters, before finding out there was a fifth in the arena. Using all 5 together produces a chest (with random loot), in addition to stopping the machine.

Since you finished Stone's flying fortress, you are a high enough level that clearing the start of the waterfall cave (to get the seeds quest) should be easy. That should reset your dragon stone.

Yes, I think I should start the main quest, I am also thinking of going to one of the other fortresses and begin another boss fight, as you have supposed. Maybe this also will activate the dragon stone. (?)
In my opinion, after all it is not good that the 'master' of the battle tower (the player) cannot enter the other levels of the tower via foot. The dragon stone is quite convenient if you want to enter your tower fast and teleport back at the very same place (in order to avoid travelling via teleporter) but as the only way to get to your servants it is not so good (esp. when it does not work...) I hope in further addons, etc. there is a way to travel inside the tower via foot.

Thanks for your help, Raze.

PS: Sorry for my bad English

The opponents in the start of the waterfall cave are a lower level that the flying fortresses, so you will not get much experience from them if you leave it too long.

There is a cave near the source of the shorter waterfall across from the grand knight teleporter shrine, as well, though I don't know if the teleporter stone gets disabled / enabled for the boss fight there.

In Divine Divinity there were teleporter pads pretty much the same as the D2:ED teleporter shrines, and teleporter pyramids (similar to the dragon stone, but you could place one wherever you wanted, and keep the other on you to teleport back to base whenever you wished, except in certain regions or during cutscenes, etc). There were also pairs of teleporter stones which teleported you between specific locations; in a continuous region battle tower, something similar could be used to allow quick travel between different platforms. I assume in D2:ED it was easier to allow the platforms to be upgraded if each one was a separate area (or something).

The dragon stone got active again after I 'talked' with the 3 golden dragons guarding the entrance to the deeper part of the cave.
Let's hope the dragon stone stays active after clearing the other fortresses and entering Orobas Fjords again. smile

Glad you got it working.

I don't recall anyone reporting this glitch happening multiple times, so hopefully you should be fine the rest of the game. You could always delay doing the seeds quests (or other main plot quests) until the last minute, just in case.
