I see there is a Bless spell. What are some other pre combat buffs for my Warrior?

I think potions (and to a lesser extent food), the Bless and Magical Might spells (never tried either) are it for temporary buffs. The passive Augment Damage skill will do the obvious, and Stun is quite helpful when maxed. At least in the disk version of the game, mixing any two of the passive Stun skill, Stun on a weapon or Frost on a weapon could result in occasional opponents hanging in mid death animation, though there are a couple ways to force it to finish (so they give experience and possibly drop loot).

I didn't bother with the passive melee damage bonus skills; they need to be almost maxed to have a significant chance of being triggered, but by the time I was a high enough level to do so I didn't need the extra help (higher level opponents start having higher resistances, as well).

Aura of Guarding and Spellshield absorb a certain amount of physical and magical damage, respectively. I maxed both with purchased skill books, and they were helpful in the middle of the game (I didn't try them until they were level 4 or 5, so they probably could have helped earlier). Spellshield is particularly helpful when dealing with opponents or traps that use poison, as the damage comes off the shield, and you don't jerk around with reduced offensive and defensive capabilities.

Survivor's Instinct is helpful to automatically top off your hit points when you return to base to stash loot or visit merchants, but it does not heal fast enough to make much of a difference during combat.

ARIC'S WARRIOR GUIDE (based on the disk version; some of the spells/skills were modified a bit in the download version)

Path of Warrior's Lore : Poison Damage, Fire Damage, Lightning Damage

Path of the Warrior Gods : Spiritual Damage

In the Warrior's Lore section I also didn't bother with Repel Damage (in general I don't like these types of skills, even in games where the reflected damage can be much greater than the original taken), but in Warrior Gods, one level of Reflect Missiles came in handy (I found it helped me locate archers just a little bit quicker, especially in areas with lots of cover, like the Dark Forest).

Take a look at the skill descriptions and decide for yourself which ones to try (I have not played the download version yet, and even with the disk version different people like different skills/spells). You can always save, go through an area of opponents, then reload, learn a skill, and try again to see if you notice a difference (though some skills may need to have 4 or 5 skill points in them before you are likely to see a dramatic difference in a small test area).
Based on the description I never bothered with Stun until I happened to find a sword with level 2 or 3 Stun on it; it helped more than I thought it would, so when I eventually upgraded I started investing in the passive Stun skill.
I used several swords with versions of the passive damage skills on them. The extra bit of damage was nice, when it got triggered, but IMO not enough to invest my own skill points.

As playing a warrior, or just using a weapon anyway wink , the "Poison Weapon" skill I find very usefull ! ( a skill of the Survivor, requered L8 to start with 1 point in this skill)
Especially the Orcs are then fast killed biggrin

Since DD contains so much loot and there're enough NPC's t trade with, you will find at least 1 weapon with a "special damage" (stun, fire dam, lightning dam, spiritual dam, poison dam, frost, etc ... ) you like most and so, if you search thoroughly and find such a weapon that fits your hero's strategy, you can put your skillpoints in other skills than those of the Warior's Lore ...

But it's al up to you to invest in those skills and don't bother to search for another weapon with special damage. Or you can mix things ...
This is just so great in DD : all the different ways to plan another strategy delight

It's simple : all the Larian games have MORE than you see at first impression ! Playing their games thoroughly will rewarded you with many hours of big fun !!! I experienced now the same with the DKS. So great, I almost can't believe it myself ... hahaha
claphands for Larian Team !!

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !
