I've been coming here a few weeks now. I haven't read too many posts because of some spoilers. But I've tried to find some information about de Executioner in the Sewers. I'm currently lvl 27 warrior and with a lot of potions and restoration spells I tried to take him down. I got about 10% off and all my potions and magic were all used up..............How can you stop this guy!!
Just come back when I'm lvl 40+ and try again?

btw, I found 2 passage in the sewers which led to a door that was locked. I've killed just about everything in the sewers and I can't find any keys........where o where can i find these.......................

oh yeah: Rules!!!

Leave the executioner alone. Its a dead end and all youget is some exp and an axe. But normaly you should be able to defeat him at this level. Do you use freeze? Or get a great damage weapon somewere.

The locked doors are opened on the other side. 1 is the assins guild and the other one is the thiefs guild.

I killed him at level 22ish with this tactic:

Mage - curse1, freeze4, elemental arrow x 10ish, freeze4, elemental arrow x 10ish ... dead.

The reward is kinda stupid, some pole axe that I sold.

The dialog box makes it hard to get your action in before he hits you, so I started off with healing myself even before it looked like I needed too, but the timing ended up being right.

The executioner I believe is an intriguing plot device in addition to being another "mini-boss" enemy that has a gazillion hitpoints and who drops a nice magic item. If you talk to some of the commoners and some cruicial NPCs, they will sometimes mention that Duke Janus is brutal, ruthless and tortures his prisoners before putting them to death. This is another one of your big "duh" hints that Janus is not the Divine One. I personally thought it was great plot continuity for you to stumble upon the executioner should you be so unlucky (or lucky, depending on the quality of axe you found ) as to stumble upon him. Larian for paying attention to such details.

Thnx for the reactions!

Currently I have the deathnight Sword.
I've haven't returned to the executioner, but I will soon!
thanks to this forum is discovered the reason why my game froze when I tried to charm something! The charm pane was outside my 1024x768 game. So know I play in 1280x1024 and everything works fine!

if u still want to play in 1024x768, just drag the charm pannel into the middle of the screan, save and then go back and switch it to 1024x768.

IIRC, there is a problem with either the mini map or auto map in resolutions higher than 1024x768. Have you tried them since changing resolutions?

Ha, another weak enemy for the true mage. I was level 26 when I defeated him, and I must say, it was simple.

Just get about 100 magic potions for the dungeon. Make sure you have either the Lightening spell or the Meteorstrike spell at at least 3 level. Also, a good idea is to have Limbs of Lead, or Burning Wall. Each one can be used to slow him down while you pummel him with meteors, spikes, or electricity.

Using -just- meteorstrike and limbs of lead I took out every single orc in the east , starting at level 16 .

All you have to do is use about 5 strength potions to boost your damage and keep the potion interface up so you can pause and use potions while slowing down the gameplay. I had to do that my first time round because I couldn't stop until I killed him. It worked for me and I think I was in the a high 20 level. prolly 27 or 28.

Hi all,

I am playing 3 games back and forth for months now it seems.
Worrior,Mage and Survivor.
I found that using lightening works the best on the stronger enemy.
All you have to do is really click like crazy to hit them with it and not give them a chance to do anything in between.
You do have to watch you health/mana and hit the space bar, drink restore potion, hit space bar in between fighting and that works for me
Hope this helps someone

My Worrior does have Slasher with freeze which is the best thing to have in addition to the above hehe

i found that you use poly morph and kill him then...well thats a greater idea to use freeze...my freeze skill is level 4 and i have never used it...i am an idiot sometimes...!!!
