I'm in a bit of a fix. Got the tower, spent most of my gold upgrading runners and such, respeced from dual wield to two-handed only to find the only two-handed weapon I have is level 12. I don't have enough to respec and no saves for hours. I went to the Fjord and couldn't even get the level 17 goblins to half before dying, and that was with trying both one and two handers.

The only weapon Sassa has is a one-handed axe and I can't find another trader anywhere. I can't explore OF because I can't kill anything on foot and it's full of anti-dragon zones.

Am I missing somebody in the tower? I know I looked everywhere.

Also I know this goes in the tips forum, but this place gets more traffic and I want to continue playing soon. Thanks for any help.

To reach merchants, you'll have to take down the anti-dragon barrier that cuts off the rest of the fjords. It shouldn't be too hard, but you can set the difficulty down lower if you're having a real problem. Next to the giant anti-dragon zone, there's one up on the side of a cliff. To get inside, you'll need to stop at one of the cliffs you can reach and take the teleporter there. You'll end up inside the anti-dragon zone and can climb up the ladder to kill the two Black Ring generals waiting there, and once you've done that, you can go upstairs and pull the lever to open up the fjords. There are merchants in Dragon Cliff Castle, just beyond the anti-dragon barrier you'll deactivate, and you can drop through the permanent anti-dragon barrier over Champion Harbor to find merchants there.

Also your platforms and throne room should each have a locked chest, except for the Alchemy platform which has a key that lets you unlock one of the other chests, which will have a key that unlocks another chest, and so on--if you save before you open a chest, the loot is randomized each time, so you could see if you can find a decent two-handed weapon in one of the chests by reloading if you don't find one.

There are a couple merchants in the bunker at the start of the fjords, as well, after they surrender.

Do you have a bow? That might help take out ground opponents. Make sure you summon your creature, as well.

Send your runners out for diamonds and malachite ore, if you don't need anything for better enchantments, and whatever plants you need for the strongest healing or stat/armour boosting potions you have the formula for. A few boost potions before heading into a fight can make a significant difference.

The only other person you can trade with in the battle tower is Grim, on your necromancer's platform, but he only sells creature parts.

If you head back outside on Sentinel Island there are a few more opponents to take out. You might be able to level, in which case Sassan's inventory would be different the next time you talked to her, other than pre-set items and gold (save before approaching or talking to her and you could reload to see if she would offer you a better sword, though I don't recall buying anything from her). More importantly, there is a dragon skill book you can find in a nest in a tree outside, the boat in a tree containing the treasure Turgoyn wants (though you may want to use it yourself, rather than complete that quest), and a few chests with random loot.

Hi,

clic on the link below and follow my description wink

Map 5 Orobas Fjords
Warning : possible spoilers ! If you want find it for yourself, just only read first part of this post and not opening the spoilertag!

When you teleport to the King Scrine (nr 2 on the map), jump and transform in dragonform. then fly to nr 4 (Simeon) where you can also find a teleporter that bring to to nr 8 (Beird & Abram - 2 trader's). Going up the ladder and after that you must fight 2 people first (John & Kara).
After that you can find in that bunker a way to clear up some of the anti dragon shields !

Flying to nr 10 (Dragon Cliff Castle) you can find another trader : Artemas. There you don't have to fight before you can trade with Artemas (but I don't remember you can fly to nr 10 BEFORE clearing up the anti dragon shields .... but you can give it a try of course wink ...

2 good trader's you can find in Aleroth (Zarniyar, Pilcher & Mercator - the last one is only for herbs if you want some ...). You can only go to Aleroth if you first find 3 different kind of Zeppelin parts spread in Wyvren nests in the Oroabas Fjords. You've only to kill some flying enemies to the way to 5.5 - 5.8 (see map 5) and search all the nests for Zeppelin parts (Rudder, Kompas and something else - 3 different kind of items). After that you must find a way to go to High Hall where there is a teleporter that can bring you to another teleporter whit the name Camp Harbour .
In Camp Harbour you can find also 2 trader's (Leon & Irwin) (and you don't have to fight, but just flying to teleporter nr 12 (Camp overlook). If I'm right this teleporter can bring you to High Hall teleporter and the High Hall teleporter can bring you to Camp Harbour !

After soem search and fighting in dragonform you will find a cave nearby a blue teleporter at the Red Hammer Tribe. In that Cave you can find Timpuk, another nice trader !!!

What I did : I making a drawing of all the blue telporters (and also the teleporter scrines incluse) and draw all possible travelroutes per teleporter via arrows ... you will see that a few teleporters are brocken and have just 1 travelroute ... other ones you can change their destiny .
This a a real time saver after making the effort to put this fast travel info on a piece of paper wink

Good luck ! smile

Thanks a lot for the responses. I will definitely use them all, and this will I think be kind of fun. Improvisation is missing in many games as your hand is held the whole time. Kind of reminds me of my time in MMOs.

I was able to find one chest that I missed, but after 30 reloads the best two-hander I could find was level 14, and my character is 21.

I will definitely try brewing some strong potions. I've been pretty unlucky with creature parts - on the necro merchant I've never found a mage head worthwhile.

Best to revisit each trader after you level up because they restock after your hero level up wink

Some chest have a fixed LEVEL, but with equipemnt/weapons with RANDOM boosts, some content in a chest level up with your hero's level (till a certain level I think) ... etc etc....

So not all gear you find in chests will have the same level of your hero.

The same with "loot" dropped by enemies ... fixed, random or a combination of both ...

well you have quite a challenge here level 17 is to low in my opinion.
so I'll give some tips to increase in level, but there is a downside to it you must begin a new game in order to gain a higher level.
also I put in a spoiler just to help you out it's your choice to read it or not.

1: as you haved have noticed, xp you get from monsters decrease with each level you gain.
with this knowlege do your exploration first before turning in your quests.

2: do all your mind read before you go exploring and turning in quests.

3: Do the main quest last! first do the exploring and get as many side quests as you can.

well for the traders in the Orobas fjords:
1: go to camp sentinal view teleporter and travel to camp eagle nest. There are two blackring traders, but it's your choice to kill them or not. by killing them no trading!

2: champion harbour are traders and in high hall

3: A trader after you passed the depleted ore mine. buy everyhing you want from him because you get only one chance

4: in aleroth are traders

the side quest ' into the bandits den" before your return to Louise to turn in the quest make sure you visit the bandits hideout. If didn't do that you miss sidequests!!!!!

second if you refuse richard second quest " feast or famine" you get the quest 'new order or champion chaos' do this quest last, because if kill richard then you can mindread Lomax for a stat point;) the downside is that you can not turn in any goblin hearts you find. so for that reason do this side quest last.

by the way dual wield expertise is the best skill in the game;) second comes 2 handed expertise

warning: the game freezes after you killed richard. to get the statpoint save the game and then exit Divinity. start divinity again reload the save game and you can rusume playing.
