So I tried drinking the blood, and found it raised my Strength by 10, but cut Vitality and Intelligence by 5. Is this the usual effect? I'm asuming because I wanted to know if it wasn't just a "raises highest stat by 10, decreases 2nd and 3rd highest by 5" effect. Strength was my highest, with Intelligence and Vitality 2nd and 3rd, which raised my suspicion.

What happens if you try to use it with less than 5 Vitality and/or Intelligence? Does it just reduce those stats to 1?

To be honest, I haven't a clue.
You could make a new character in FoV and try to find out what happens, but don't hold us responsible if the universe implodes! meh

Bah, was hoping I wouldn't have to do that! Defeating that demon again isn't a fun task. He has the Healing spell! frown

You could make a warrior character and focus on the fatality skill: get it up to fifteen and you can end the fight with one blow when his health drops to fifty percent. He won't have used his healing spell by then (I think). rpg001

I was just thinking "Hey, maybe this would be a good time to try out Fatality!" With Bleed, a maxed Expertise, and some luck finding a level 10 damage enchantment in the marketplace, and this shouldn't take too long.

Yeah, that's the effect.

Even as fighter I didn't find it worth it...

Ok, I checked the Blood's effect on a character with 5 or less Vitality and Intelligence!

Using it will actually reduce those stats to 0. I checked with Vit 1 and Int 3, so basically, if the Blood would cause the stat to hit 0 or below, it's set to 0.

0 Vitality gives no bonus HP at all.
0 Intelligence doesn't give the 0.55 Magic Resist you'd expect at 1 Int, nor the 1% Indomitable Will, or 0.01% Mana Regeneration.

Seems like those stats at 0 are dead, for all intents and purposes. They can still be raised, however. So I guess for people who want to twink their character to the max, they would want to keep Intelligence and Vitality at 1 until then...

That'd be rough to do through all of ED.

Well, there is a forced +1 to all stats, so minimum is 2. Unless of course sacrified then once again in Bellegar's cave.

EDIT: Not to mention, not use the Potion of Wisdom. As you found out you can't take it afterwards again.

It might be more useful if you're starting a new game on FoV.

The additional stat- and skillpoints found in ED should make well up for that for any "char to max" build.

But yes, it's a nice option to get some free points if you start a new FoV game...

Well, if you wanted to squeeze out every stat point, you could choose Allan instead of Barbaos, so you don't "waste" the potion, and you'll get the Allan Brew out of it, too.

All battle tower people give equal skill points in DKS (except Kenneth, due to The Demon Wars).
