The description of the item says it's up to you to believe if those things work. So... do they? wink

In all my playthroughs, I just bought all the crystals I could find but I still have no clue if they actually do speed up the healing. Has anyone tested this with a stop watch or something or otherwise knows if they are a Red Herring and thus a great joke from Larian or if they actually do work?

I think they're just for enchanting things.

You can enchant things with the healing crystals? I'm not talking about malachites but those red things where the description tells you about the legend "some they would aid healing but if you believe that is up to you". They cost some 50 or so and I tended to collect all of them.
As far as I believed so far, you cannot do anything with them.

The red things which are called "Crystals" are used in enchanting. Specifically, they're the base gemstone for the "Fire Curse" weapon enchantment.

As far as I know, it's just flavor text, and they're only useful for that enchantment.

If I recall, there is an enchantment that heals you slowly over time but this is for armor or amulets/rings.

No, they are not quest items - and they are not the enhancement.

Does DE/DKS have some item database there? (Maybe RPGs used to have that in the past)

The item name is Crystal.
It is classified as a gem, and is bought for 100 gold (75 with discount, and sells for 20).
The description is "Is this crystal a source of healing and energy, or just a pile of mumbo jumbo? You decide..."

That item is a gem, used in enchantments. It has no actual healing properties, and that description (that mentions healing) is just flavor text, without any actual meaning or function besides just...flavor. Specifically, they are used in all Fire Curse enchantments (for weapons).

There is no "Healing Crystal" item. There's a Healing Orb, in FoV, but it is a quest item, and can only be used for its specific quest.

Yes, that are the crystals I talk about. Are you sure or are you just suspecting they don't do anything?

Lancet knows far more about the intricate inner workings of this game than is probably healthy.

I am quite sure that flavor text is, indeed, just flavor text. If you need more evidence on this, here is a wikipedia article on the pseudo-science known as crystal healing. This is the concept used in the flavor text, about the "healing" properties of the crystal.

They might work somewhere within Rivellon - but maybe the proper knowledge went lost ?
