My character is level 28 and I decided to try doing some flying fortresses. I entered the snowy one, don't recall the name, and am at a loss as how to go about it. I prefer human form to the dragon so I looked for places to land rather than take on all the towers. I spent about 30 minutes carefully pulling a couple enemies at a time at 5 different camps but didn't see any doors or bosses.

Is this mainly a dragon area? Are the bosses in human form on the outside or through a door somewhere?

There are a couple telporters in Keara's fortress, one leading to a storage area and another to the headquarters, where you'll find the boss. Just start at the bottom and work your way to the top.

Stone's fortress is the easiest one (teleporter on the north east end of the island across from the dragon cliff castle), followed by Raze (mountain across from the harbour), Broken Valley, Keara and then Kali (Rivertown Gorge).

Even the Fortress of Raze is not so easy to begin with (I'm now level 27) ... but big fun ! smile

Me too love the human form a little more just because the battles in dragon form are super big fun BUT to fast over/done in comparison with the human battles and gathering loot form crates, barrels and chests ... searching everywhere I can takes time ...

When I start a Flying Fortress I first fly around to get an "overview" and then start in human form, mostly all the way down first (like Raze said : at the bottom and way up to the top wink )

If I wish to fast(er) make big XP I blow up some Ballista's or ... biggrin

My "strategy" after getting hopelessly lost the first time, is to destroy everything as dragon on a 'platform' then clean it as human. This way I had an easy overview which areas are already cleaned, and which left to do, which can be important in harder to navigate fortresses or when loading a savegame months later (which would be my current situation).

Either destroy them from a distance with fireball/magic missile or explosive arrows. Or rush in and kill the archers with melee.

All depends on your build.

That's a pretty solid strategy which I also follow, although it's simpler in DKS than in ED because there are fewer islands, and they're organized more clearly.

welcome to one of the hardest part in the game flying fortresses.

to max XP first kill the humans on every island then change into dragon and kill the fortifications
go with the wizard towers first, then the lightning towers and nest/dais towers and lastly the ballistas

the easiest to do is Stones flying fortress. (stone itself can be quite a challenge in ED because he is overpowered there in DKS it's better ballanced)

then go to raze's flying fortress. (flip the levers in the northeast and northwest then kill raze;))

after that pick one kali or keara. I think kali goes first because there a quest involved here.(murder for mythros if you picked hermossa as your skill trainer)

by keara's fortress is the one with the snowy background. you must solve a puzzle good luck solving it I don't give you the antswer because of the spoiler.
