I love the "Good Vs Evil" image of the white dragon fighting the red and black fire dragon. This game will surely be awesome!

I've played too much Shin Megami Tensei. White no longer automatically translates to "Good" and, likewise, black no longer automatically translates to "Evil".

Hmmm...don't glowing red eyes state anything either?

Ah, but the black dragon is using technology, so has to be evil.

The reason there were no dragons in Divine Divinity (except Patriarch)? Global warming from dragon afterburners, etc.

Yeh, the good dragon has to me Amish!

As for Global Warming, just give a dragon a bean burrito... you'll get some global warming. There goes the ozone layer!

I DARE YOU!

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

The Dragon Slayers and even Damian, I believe, have glowing silver eyes. The colour of the glowing eyes does little to indicate a person's morality, it would seem.

You're on the Internet talking about an upcoming videogame. Technology is awesome!

In games where magic also exists, technology tends to be evil. I can't think of an example of a technologically advance people being good while the primitive people were evil, but there are lots of cases the other way around.

You got me there. The only example I can think of off the top of my head is Metroid Prime: Corruption where, on the planet Bryyo, a conflict arose between a progressive pro-technology faction and a traditionalist pro-magic faction. The pro-magic faction eventually won, ultimately leading to the death of their advanced civilization and the regression of their species to primitive savages.

But other than that one, I can't think of any either.

But consider this... White=Good/Black=Evil and Magic=Good/Technology=Evil are such common and obvious visual shorthands that they could be considered tiresome clichés. Since Dragon Commander was touted as something of an ambitious project, one would think that ambition would show even in these early visual designs and Larian would not take the easy way out. Therefore, concluding on that single image alone that the White Dragon is the Good One and the Black Dragon is the Evil One, like Demonic did, would be... premature.

(Although in all seriousness, yeah, the White Dragon probably will turn out to be the Good One and the Black Dragon probably will turn out to be the Evil One, but until we get some actual confirmation, I'm gonna resist such easy snap judgements.)

I don't think it's premature to judge about what would be good or evil. They're saying the game will cover new grounds in gameplay. If we go by previous Divinity games, black/red always equals evil. Damien's dressed in black armor while The Divine One is wearing golden armor. That says it all for me because Damien is evil while The Divine One is good.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did put something in where the good guy looks evil and the evil guy looks good just because of this forum discussion!

Damn you Wotan! Now we are ALL going to get tricked in-game!
