no, seriously. i'm becoming increasingly irritated at this game which i love so much i defeated raze. sure i had a little rough time with it, i managed to do it. when i did i was overjoyed. then i read some forums posts which they took stone at lvl 29-30 and it was a cakewake. i thought, it's time to finally conquer him. but.. no. i get overwhelmed. -_-. and on top of that, i'm unable to kill the mobs at the portal fast enough at the ministry of magic. i'm at the final portal and most of the mobs are giving me 0 exp. with the exception of one or two... i really love DKS, i'm sure you guys can see it from my previous topic.. but all these issues keep it to be enjoyable... and sure, i'm expecting L2PLAY replies.. but i'm truly trying my best and bringing 20 health potions with me.. but.. -_-. btw, nice treaser for dragon commander. seriously. <3

What level are you, and what character build?
Did you try lowering the difficulty, if you are not already playing on casual?
Have you summoned your creature (and a summon, if you have one)? If you have any equipment with a bonus to a summon skill (I found a couple with Summon Demon bonuses) you can equip it long enough to summon, then switch back to your regular jewellery.
Using Charm on one of the opponents could help, as well.
Temporary potion or spell buffs could also help.
With Stone, are you having trouble in the first section of the headquarters, or in the arena? In the headquarters, in D2:ED as a warrior I focused Stone at first, but ended up dying. After reloading I concentrated on the other opponents there, leaving Stone for last, and did much better (though someone else posted with the opposite experience). In DKS as a ranger I didn't have much trouble, but I left all of the headquarters until I was finished the rest of the flying fortresses (wanted to delay doing the dragon parts of the fortresses and completing quests).
In the ministry I stood a little in front of Zandalor, with my creature at least slowing down the crawlers from the left portal. Whenever there was a break from the front 2 portals I would check behind me to see if I needed to take out a memory eater from the back portal. As a warrior in D2:ED I used a bow to attack opponents from the front rifts (primarily the right, as my creature handled the left rift there, as well), more to get their attention and draw them to me than to do damage.

I'm getting frustrated by the Aleroth ministry portals as well. I've put most of my level up stat points into strength; and melee skills seem to be really bad for this challenge (and if I reset my skills, my high strength will probably make magic or ranged attacks ineffective).
I saw a guide suggesting that you can abuse quick-save to get through the 60 seconds; but I'm on 360 and the Save option is disabled during this fight.
I guess lowering difficulty is a possibility; it would be a shame to have to lower it for just one fight though

summoning your Creature helps, as well as using the strength Dextarity & intelligence potions. Try not to have to kill the big memory eater as he tends to block some of the fiends from getting to Zandalor. Let your creature charge them while you guard Zandalor, it may take a few trys but I know you can do it.

What level are you? This doesn't have to be done until you are finished everything else and ready to head to the Hall of Echoes. I didn't have any problems in the ministry as a warrior in the original release of D2:ED, though that was one of the last things I did before heading to the Hall of Echoes (I did try at a lower level, and gave up, not being in the mood to listen to Zandalor's complaints about having to restart; if I muted the volume I probably could have refined my technique and done better). As mentioned above, I used a bow to help get opponents to target me rather than Zandalor (the best bow in the fjords can be bought from the smith inside the harbour building). Rush Attack should help take out memory eaters from the back rift, while Whirlwind is handy if too many of the opponents from the front rifts get close. If you want to try ranger skills, lack of dexterity may not be a problem. Playing a ranger on nightmare, I stopped distributing stat points on level 15, and made it to the end of the game (at the end of the Hall of Echoes, I had 36 dexterity, with equipment bonuses bringing that up to 51). Explosive Arrow damage is based only on the skill, so any bow will do. Splitting Arrows do damage based on the bow, and at close range will pretty much one hit kill any common opponent. Poison Arrows could also be helpful, since they slow down opponents a bit and do damage. Stun Arrows might be helpful if a lot of opponents come at once, but are more intended to follow up with ranged attacks. At least some magic spells get a bonus from intelligence in DKS (I only checked Magic Missile and Fireball; the opponent I tested on was immune to Firewall). If you want to try some mage skills, though, they may still be effective enough to help, even if they would not be as effective as they could be with a higher intelligence. Duel wielding a couple weapons with high level magic damage enchantments would help magical attacks more than intelligence, anyway. If you have any jewellery with skill bonuses, they could help. One with a Summon Demon bonus, for example, would only need to be equipped long enough to summon, and you could swap back to your main jewellery piece. Temporary boost potions could help a bit. Deodatus keeps casting the warrior boost spell on you, which will deactivate the Way of the Ranger or Way of the Battle Mage skills. I didn't use Way of the Ranger until I hit level 40 in FoV, and bought a bow with that skill bonus. Welcome to the forum.

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome and for the advice. I managed to beat this section; by dropping the difficulty to Casual and abusing the quicksave. Actually I'm not sure what the logic is regarding Save being available or disabled. I think I saw it disabled a few seconds after I saw it enabled. It still seems tough/unfair when using melee attacks, an enemy can walk in and land a blow on Zandalor inside the time it takes you to strike another enemy. Actually it seems to be better to not try and kill enemies, but hang back a bit and wait to see if any target Zandalor. Oh well; thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to the Hall of Echoes now

Oh well; thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to the Hall of Echoes now trying to avoid spoiler: mindread when you enter the "arena." the skill point trumps the exp debt.

http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197991549875/screenshot/558666746528869502/?tab=publicsorry for the slow reply, as i was busy with schoolwork and am finally done and starting with my holidays. above are 3 screenshots of my character skill, stats and equipment and build (if you can see or identify them >_<) i always have my creature out :\ and yes. i've buffed up to the max with stats potions. the trouble i'm having with stone's flying fortress isn't even stone himself it's the entrance mobs. there are just so many. i get overwhelmed even before i have time to consume a potion. i'm really sorry i must sound like a noob ranting or my skills and stats aren't that good. if so, please advise me to improve. thanks again and i know in my earlier thread, i stated that i wanted to go for a dual wielding build. unfortunately i wasn't able to find any good 1h swords..

Head to Broken Valley or one of the other fortresses, where you can level up some more, and go back for Stone later.
What armour enchantments do you use? Playing a ranger, on level 30 (in Keara's fortress) I had 819 hit points (278 without equipment bonuses), while your warrior has 611. I always go for Life Line first, then usually Increased Mana (used a couple to boost resistances).
I'd max Bleed (after your weapon expertise of choice). I have not tried Bleed in DKS (it was modified from the original release of D2:ED, which I played as a warrior), but it should be better than Reflect. You don't need Encumbrance any more, since you have the battle tower chest to send any plants or minerals to, etc. You don't need more than level 1 of Death Blow until you have more skill points that you know what to do with, IMO (get your base damage up before worrying about crits). If you are going to stick to two handed swords, get rid of the duel wield expertise skill and boost two handed. I would put 1 level into Life Leech and the Healing skill, and then only boost Life Leech if you have spare skill points an no skills to boost damage (it is nice to have, but you can rely on the healing spell or potions).

i'd talk to my necromancer and get the highest level stuff for my Creature- i've heard people say for a warrior type character, to have a Mage-based creature. it's up to you.
Throw a few points toward Summon Demon- yes, to Summon Demon... something that can distract a few guards- and even take a few out. whenever i took on the Fortress' i had my Creature and Demon out asap.
Don't be afraid to branch out your character's skill from just a pure-warrior build. honestly, i could never do that- because Explosive Arrows is just that damn good. [the Bow of Orobas, at the Champion's Harbor, is well work the 10k- better then the piece of crap you got for the Fjord's Bounty Hunt.]
if you'd rather not branch out, don't underestimate Jump. gets you outta the fray for a bit, can cause some serious damage, might even knock down the buffoon.

i'm using a melee creature lol >_> he usually runs amuck and brings all the mobs to me. lol. but still, it's kinda hard to manage even without him bringing all the mobs to me.
honestly, looking at the other skills tempt me.. but i'm trying to be as 'warrior' as possible (if that makes any sense :X) but.. after seeing the advice here, i guess either my skill build is wrong, or that my skill failz >_>
i cleared out the whole area already (i think?) and i cleared the area after broken valley. and in the previous area too (the place where you first arrived after your tutorial. excuse my foggy memory.. been 2 months since i last touched it) of all dragon nests. and i really have no idea where else to train. lol. >_>
but yeah. anywhere to get good equipment now? i feel my current ones are lackluster :\

I tried a melee creature for awhile with my ranger, but like you found that just cause problems with it attracting more opponents (and defeated the purpose of Ranger Stealth). I went back to a mage head. You can be a pure warrior if you wish (I don't mind paladin type builds, so learned Healing in D2:ED with my warrior). The main problem is you boosted one expertise skill but switched weapons. After the turorial you end up in Broken Valley; there are some changes there, though, after you take over the battle tower, and it essentially becomes a flying fortress (with a couple different headquarters). There are 2 more fortresses along the channel south of the harbour, one with a portal access across from the Red Hammer tribe area, and the other in Rivertown Gorge, which you fly to at the very end of that channel. The traders in the bunker at the start of the fjords might have something. There are a couple good traders in Aleroth. If you have not been there yet, find at least one of each of the 3 types of zeppelin parts (9 total), and talk to a couple NPCs on top of the harbour building. Here is a spoiler map of the fjords, showing the rough locations for the 9 parts (marked with an S ). Alternately, from the D2:ED walkthrough (locations are the same in DKS), -Crystal 1: on the tiny island just south of the entrance to the fjords; climb up the ladder and retrieve it from on top of Yggdrasil
-Crystal 2: on a low cliff east of Camp Sentinel View, across the water from Camp David
-Crystal 3: on a cliff in the middle of the bend just before the entrance to Rivertown Gorge [EDIT on the same ledge as a boarded-up cave door]
-Rudder 1: a short ways east of the Camp Freedom teleporter
-Rudder 2: halfway between the Imps' Lair and Camp David
-Rudder 3: on a low southwest cliff near the exit to Rivertown Gorge
-Compass 1: on the cliff directly opposite Rudder 1
-Compass 2: high up above Moor's shack, just northeast of the entrance to Keara's Flying Fortress
-Compass 3: on a cliff just before the bend on the way to Rivertown Gorge

-Compass 3: on a cliff just before the bend on the way to Rivertown Gorge thank you for the response raze and i hope you pardon my lack of a quick response as i've been a little busy. anyway, ah yes. paladin. how could i forget my favourite class. lol. and a mage head sounds about right now :\ i guess i'll have to spend a bomb on reskilling and stuff. but is there anywhere now that i might "grind" money? i think i've pretty much conquered every flying fortress "Dragon parts" of the areas. as i've been grinding to reach level 30 and i've believed i've explored most of the fjords ... sadly i can't really find out where or what i've missed even with the given map lol. but i'm pretty sure i got most of the things on map. bunkers? where? lol. the first trader i met was probably the ones who were at that place where you fought the "dragon terror squad"? lol. can't remember too. i'm really sorry if you are struggling to interpret my post.. its been awhile.. and i'm honestly embarassed. anyway for the compass parts, i believe i still have not completed that yet even though i've handed in 8-9 parts. :\. i'll check out the locations you described again. once again guys, thank you so much.

The easiest way to grind for money is to send your runners for diamonds, malachite ore and maybe plants for the most expensive potion you can make. see Runners and Tower ?The bunker is the place on the side of the mountain with the anti-dragon shields around it, until you disabled them and the barrier blocking off the test of the fjords. After climbing up the ladder and fighting two black ring members (lord and lady something) the two upstairs will offer their surrender, and trade with you if you accept. You can not get to dragon cliff castle without disabling the barrier from inside the bunker. The zeppelin quest requires all of the parts to complete, but just one of each type will get one zeppelin working, and allow you to enter Aleroth. Dragon Knight Saga FAQ/Guide

now.. i'm back. and i've reskilled. farmed up some money to buy a good axe from sassan. changed certain parts of my equipment. i decided to go a one handed weapon and shield route. crusader/paladin! and i too went and modify my pet into a mage head. and lo and behold. i wiped the floor with stone. lol. that's not to say i didn't consume potion. but the only other skill i learnt from outside the warrior skill tree is healing lol. and it helped tremendously. but still, if i'm overwhelmed, i'll die pretty fast.. but that's not to say i won't go down without a fight :p. thanks all for the help and suggestions and about the zepplin quest.. i still can't find all the parts =.=

and about the zepplin quest.. i still can't find all the parts =.= Once you get to Aleroth and complete the mission there, i think the high sage (not Zandalor) has a really kick-ass shield for Sword'n'Shield make characters. as for the Zeppeling parts quest, once you pass the Harbor and the Slayer encampment "No Dragon Zone" there's a hut to the left (right after the Barrier!), that has a bounty head. if you mindread him, right above- like, directly above- his camp is a Zeppelin part and his key.

The Ulthring armor set is pretty kick-ass. no weaksause accessories to get the full range of bonuses.
usually i'd wear whatever works until i can wear the Blood Echeon armor, then I'd wear the Ulthrin armor; then in FoV i'd go for the Order of the Viper armor set.
