I'm in Orabas Fjords and I'm confused. As a person and a dragon, I'm blocked by those barriers all over the place. How do I get past them.

Also, any hints about fighting as a dragon. I'm having a real hard time, especially those nests. I get near one and fire away but no damage. I move closer and I die instantly

did you find a blind man sitting on a pillar? Nearby him there is a Teleporter. there're more of such Teleporters and they're are very handy to fast travel.
By a few Teleporters the Control Panel is stuck so you can only travel to 1 location. Other Teleporters you can change the destiny by using the Control Panel. It's worth the effort to write down notes about them or make a drawing. I used them maany times to fast travel from merchant to merchant when I go for shopping .


From the Teleporter by the man sitting on a pillar (Simeon) you can travel to Eagle's Nest ! and that's the location you must go to ! find there you way up (ladder) and be prepared, you must fight 2 NPC's there, but don't kill the other two because Beird and Abram are traders If you find abram, look there and you can find some Levers !
This is the ONLY places you can SET OFF a few barriers that block you in Dragon form !! If you find later on more barriers (at the Harbour ...), those barriers can NEVER be set off, so don't search for more levers

As long as the barrieres are in tact and you try to fly through them, you gonna die ! And because of the barriere most of the time you can't do damage to towers/nests behind the barriere, that's normal !

A tip : later on, if you've trouble killing flying monsters that come out of nests or whatever ... try the Dragon skill Polymorph on them ! Very useful, if you ask me

I found Simeon the Philosopher. When I click on the teleporter next to him, it says it is inactive. When I stand on the pad, the voice says "you can stand there all day but nothing is going to happen"

Strange ... I think I forget something, but what ...

Maybe you must first "activate" the Teleporter ? But I can't remember how, it's already months ago and I didn't make a note about this. Maybe I found the solution without to notice it I activated the Teleporter(s) !
Have you find also a Control Panel ? Maybe via this Control Panel you can activate the Teleporter ?

Sorry I can't remember it ! I never had any problem, no long search or something, to use them.
But in the area there in Orobas Fjords are more than one such a Teleporter ! Maybe fly around and find other Teleporters ! Try them all (don't forget to use the Control Panel) and hope that will help ? Otherwise I really can't help you.

But flying as a Dragon there is a way to go to Eagle's Nest, but I'm not sure you can fly to Eagle's Nest without being blocked by a barriere ! Some gamers - I read on thsi forum - said something about finding the bunker of Eagle's Nest and fly above the bunker, use the Morph Stone so they turned back in Human and they fall on the roof of that bunker and so find there way in ! But I never tried it myself.

You need to activate it. And you can activate it from the bunker.
