I bought a copy of Ego Draconis as soon as I saw it on a store shelf. That was 5 years ago. I have yet to see Flames of Vengeance or Dragon Knight Saga available. Where can I get it?

DKS did not get a retail release in the US or UK, but you should be able to order it online if you want the disk version. Steam and Amazon (etc) occasionally put the download version on sale.

GoGamer.com in the US used to carry DKS, but the site is down (there used be a messages saying they would be back 'soon', but now it is just a logo). AFAIK nobody in Canada that carries the game (Amazon/Gamestop) ships outside of Canada (and Gamestop no longer lists the PC version on their site).
A few people in the UK mentioned ordering from Play-asia.com (though it is out of stock there now, as it was last time I checked, about 5 months ago). You should be able to order from any European country (except Germany), since they include the English language version of the game (but not necessarily an English manual).

I can't buy a hard copy?

FoV is available as digital download only (just the German version got a retail release). Steam elected to only carry DKS (with a discount for anyone who bought D2:ED through them), and other digital distributors who did have FoV may no longer list it. FoV is still available directly from Larian, though you may be able to get DKS cheaper (Amazon.ca currently lists the retail version of DKS at CAN$22; with sales, download versions have been as cheap as US$8-10).

I thought that as well. smile Sometimes people loose track of time; I thought my pc for instance is only a year or so old but looking at my invoice I bought it over 2 years ago...

As I'm in the US it looks like I'm excluded then. As I see it digital distribution has only blurred the lines between purchased and pirated copies. I want my games to come on a disc and in a box to prove that own it.

Give it time, that sentence will be accurate eventually. And by then I probably still won't have seen a copy of the other game.

Found in I can't buy a hard copy?

That's unfortunate. When I buy something I expect to be able to use it without challenge of ownership or needing to ask for permission first.

I hope Dragon Commander won't be so overbearing with it's DRM and actally be available for sale to people who want it.

Actually, Securom has been removed from DKS. You can download the update from the link below for any non-Steam version of the game (it is available directly through Steam for that version; not sure if other digital distributors have also released it themselves as an update).

Dragon Knight Saga DRM free patch

Nothing has been mentioned about copy protection in Dragon Commander, but Lar has said in the forum and his blog that he is not a big fan of DRM. Larian removed the DRM from Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and DKS (contractual restrictions prevented them from removing it from the original release of D2:ED).

Larian is self publishing Dragon Commander, so hopefully that and the success of DKS will make it easier to get a distributor in the US/UK than it was a publisher for Divinity 2.

Does removing Securom mean that the disc isn't required or that Online Activation is no longer required?

Both.
