hey!

i got a problem, whenever i strip my character of all his clothes-armor, weapons, and jewelries-the game locks up or freezes. the game just stops. all i can hear is the music and if i turn that down, then i hear nothing. i tried using other settings, like direct draw, software and the like and under different resolution but nothing worked. i even tried reinstalling the game, didn't work either.

i'm already at the stormfist castle or rather the duke, janus, has thrown me out of the castle cuz i failed(?) as his lord protector. out of the castle, his advisor(forgot her name)says something bout this and that. after the conversation, as my character is bout to be teleported, the game freezes. if what i read from the faqs are true, my character is to be teleported to some prison, stripped of all his belongings, then i can surmise that, as the game would freeze everytime my character get sort of naked, why the game freezes.

also, in the dwarven bread inn, there is a boxing match there. if i choose to join and enter the ring, fully clothed that is, the game freezes again. correct me if i'm wrong but am i right to say that if i participate in the boxing match all my belongings-armors and that sorts-will be stripped off me?

any ideas on how to correct this problem? and when's the next patch coming anyway?

thanks.

Have you tried starting a brand new game and see if the same bug occurs? If it does not, then it is a corrupted save-game that is causing the problem. Something might have gone wrong with your inventory files -- have you tinkered with them at all? If this same bug still occurs even for a new game, then you must reinstall the game and re-apply the latest patch.

Have you tried taking things off one at a time, to see if it was a particular piece of equipment causing the problem?

Try deleting all of the files in the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\Dynamic' folder. If you re-set the settings in the error message that comes up after a crash, this would have already been done (with the 1.34 patch).
This folder is used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied from that folder when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in that folder, deleting the files should fix the problem.

If this happens in a new game (try the same class and gender), the default character graphics may have become corrupt, in which case you could try re-installing the game. Zip or otherwise backup your saved games folder to another location first, just in case. Then un-install, re-boot, shut down all non essential programs (especially anti-virus), re-install the game, perhaps start the game and see if the problem persists (usually not necessary, but would help identify problems cause by the patch), re-boot, shut down all non essential programs, install the patch, re-boot, shut down all non essential programs, start the game. This procedure is a bit over-cautious, but the best way to avoid install problems.

i think it is a corrupted save file. i noticed that even after removing all my outfit, some of which has bonuses to my abilities, the abilities remains the same as if i'm still wearing my outfit.

reinstalling the game with the patch corrected that though.

thanks again.
