I just beat <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />, WOOHOO!, and I was wanting to play through it again but don't want to have to create a new character from scratch. Is there any way to import your character from the old game i.e. Baldur's Gate style or not? If not...are there any good character editors out there that I can use? Thanks

You cant use your previous made char anymore. There is a save game editor but no char editor.

Hi Krull,

It's a compressed file similar to *.zip. You can use one of the following utilities to decompress or extract it: WinRAR, WinAce, Winzip, or Alzip. There are many other similar utilities out there that can unzip a ".rar" file. I've just listed some examples.

Thanks but there's only one problem. When I try to load the game I've edited...it will freeze up my system and I have to restart my comp. It loads about half the gauge and then stops but the second time it loaded completely let me look at my skills and then froze. Do I have to use a certain patch with the editor or is there something else I'm missing?

I have use the save editor with versions 1.29 to 1.34, without running into any problems.

Was the save you edited working properly before this? Did you make a new save, or let the editor backup the data.000 file? If so you can revert to the previous version, make sure it works, make a new save or copy of the folder, and re-try editing. Alternately, since you are just starting the game again, you could create a new character, save and re-edit.

Try just giving yourself spare skill points. Maybe if you are putting more points into a skill than you should have at that character level, the game is choking on that. When I tried this (v1.32), the save loaded fine, but the edited skills did not change.

I thought the same thing too raze when I reloaded the game so I just edited the exp to a ridiculous amount and I had free range to stick all the points where I wanted to. It works fine now. Thanks again.
