This is a news from the Larian's home page

Quote
Larian Studios is a games development studio from Ghent, best known for its highly successful RPG series called Divinity. Fifteen years of hard work made a few people curious as to what the studio is up to, and Larian is now looking for a Communication Specialist who could make those few people happier. Described in one sentence, the job sounds like this: "learn about Larian's on-going events and projects, and tell the players about them". You will have full access to the everyday production of some of the most original video-games currently created in Europe. How much the fans find out about them, is up to your writing and communication skills.

Requirements

you will be living in Ghent area;
you will be able to work from the studio's office (most of the days);
you will have a basic knowledge of English, and an advanced knowledge of human psychology (or is it the other way around?);
you will know games, you will play games, and you will love games industry;
you will be happy to talk to both developers and players, and you will be happy to share the information between both groups.

How to apply

If you think that candidate is you, please send us your CV together with a motivation letter, salary history and samples of past writing and design work. Please be prepared for multiple interview rounds and performing a variety of design tests to prove to us that you fit the profile.

To apply, please contact jobs@larian.com.

No follow-up calls or e-mails please.

Does that means that we will have more information about the devloppment of Divinity : Original Sin? Does Larian Studio will take account of gamers whishes and views?

It sounds like someone who will communicate with Larian to learn all the latest news about their games, events and projects and then pass them onto the community. It doesn't sound like someone who would be taking suggestions from the fan-base and giving them to Larian and besides I'm pretty sure Larian are more than capable of doing that themselves.

Gent is a really nice town. It is good if you are able to speak the Wallonic Belgian language. I had my problems there, but at the railway station an empleyee actual understood German (there is an official German-language community as part of Belgium, too).

If I was trained as an communications person, I'd apply immediately ... Oh, but, I'm German. I fear that this wouldn't work out.

Actually the main language in Gent is Dutch (aka the Flemish Belgian language).
At the company offices however we do have 5-10 people who do not speak Dutch. That is why most office documents, emails, internal forums and meetings are in English.
Where a Dutch spoken language is not required, you do have to understand and speak English.

I agree that the "Wallonic" language is French, but like every language it have it's "dialects", depending on the region/district .

In Gent you hear another dialect of the 'Flemish language' than you hear in Antwerp !
(just an example)
wink

Yes, 2013.

To show off my corporate stats - not by Q1, perhaps by Q2, but for sure by Q3 smile

Of course, I have been known to get my dates wrong before, as evidenced here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-Nq9_X68os&feature=player_embedded

So is the female character always an archer/mage and the male a warrior, or can you develop both characters as you wish, i.e. reverse roles?
