Hello Larian,
I'm having problems with downloading the game, once I proceed to download to the computer it gives this message

"Error opening
The server returned status code 404"

What do I do?

I just downloaded the downloader program for DD and was able to start a download of the game (though there could still be an issue with the server there, or Larian could be using different servers for DD and DKS).

Do you get the error downloading the download program from the 'Your Games' page on the Larian Vault website, or after running the download program? If the latter, try right clicking and running it as administrator, or see if your firewall (if installed/enabled) is blocking access (though a failure to connect would probably give a server not found error).

Try again, to see if the server just had a temporary problem (in the middle of an update, or something). If that doesn't help send an email to support@larian.com (though unfortunately it is a little after midnight there now, so you will not get a response for awhile.

I choose the folder (it prompts to create the folder, and after it

prompts to download window. "receiving...."

and then stops

and the little notification shows up "Error opening...http:....
The server returned status code 404"

It doesn't let me download because of the error coded 404...
(tried to described my best)

Are there separate downloaders listed on the 'Your Games' page for each language version, or are they all combined? You could try downloading a different language version of DKS, and then cancel it if it starts downloading (though whether that works or not it wouldn't really help, or speed up a resolution, since the problem appears to be with the server).

the german version downloader works fine - i tried to do as you suggested. but the Engli, Spanish Italian bundle isn't working still... Thank you Raze. AS someone said you're a malachite gem of Larian forums!

French downloader does work either. ok... I guess I will have to play German version, anyways I used to study German around 15 years ago... time to refresh my German skills!...:P

I don't know if the saved games are compatible or not, but if you don't mind the extra download, at least you can play until the English version is fixed.

Sorry to hear you’re having problems downloading DKS. We’re looking into this right now, so hopefully this will soon be fixed. I’ll keep you posted.

If you’re having technical problems, always feel free to send a mail to support@larian.com. That’s probably the quickest way to draw out attention!

Edgecast is the content delivery network that is hosting the files on servers all over the world. They are usually very trustworthy and fast, but like for many other internet servers the last days have been taxing.

As someone who bought German version if ED in 2009 and used language hack - I can say the aren't compatible, at all. That's for sure.
