I personally stopped buying games from Steam because of their restrictive ToS, which requires you to be running the Steam client when you run the game, amongst other things. So I think GOG is the better deal. I've bought a few games from them over the years and never had a problem with them and I think their marketing approach is very creative.
i have to warn you, Divinty 2 DKS is not a game, it is a drug, one that is so addictive you will lock yourself in the room until you finish.
It bothers me that I can't figure out
why it's so addictive.I've spent over 250 hours on DKS, without a doubt I received more value for my money with it than with pretty much any other game in my collection, except perhaps for DA:O, and possibly Neverwinter Nights. But I can't really pin down why that is when people ask me. I can think of a lot of things specifically wrong with the game, but what's right with it seems to have less to do with specifics and more to do with overall design, with mood, and with the personal attitudes of the people who designed it.
Larian has a unique approach, an unusually creative approach and it's that, more than the specifics of any particular game, that stands out for me when so many other games are so bland and predictable. In a way a game like DKS is kind of the opposite of a formulaic RPG but I still think they could have spent more time on it before releasing it and I hope they think of that in future, and I mean that constructively.
