Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems No fog of war in the Dark Forest

Entering the Dark Forest for the first time and the map has been completely revealed. To me, the fog is essential for exploration of new areas, so I've been reading around and have tried out some things people who had the same problem did - I replaced the shroud.x2 file in the save with the ones from startup and startup.v2, deleted the dynamic files, re-installed, then tried the first two options again, and still the fog of war is gone! Is there anything else I can do to reset the fog? All my saves appear to have this problem when I enter the new area.

For some reason the same thing happened to me the last time I re-installed DD. Copying the shroud.x2 file from the startup folders didn't help, or extracting it from the patch or play CD. However, starting a new game and teleporting to the Dark Forest resulted in a normal fog of war. You can download this zipped shroud.x2 file (2KB) to extract into your save.
