What's your favorite boardgame?

One favorite boardgame on my list is The Resistance.

I played a new version titled The Resistance: Avalon with a meetup group and kept going at this for hours!

My best boardgame at home : Puerto Rico (collector's edition)
We wance bought Carcassone for our friend. Bad idea. Should have kept it for myself!
I have a girlfriend who also loves boardgames. I gave her "yinsh" at her last birthday.

Yes, I go to the board games fair in Essen, Germany, every year. laugh wink
Card games can be fun, too.
My only drawback is that my friends are littered across country-wide, meaning that it is too difficult to get them into 1 spot together.

About the Dragon Commander Board Game: is there someone on the Larian team who 'is trustworthy' of giving an opinion on the board game? It's a big box so I assume it will be expensive, but will it be worth it?

Ooh, I'd be careful of that lot. From what I hear, they'll steal your soul and eat your pies.

I like board games (and card games too) ... hope the boardgame of Dragon Commander I can buy one day, especially if I can't play the game I prefer to play the board game smile

Since a very long time the board game "Chess" start to fascinate me ! It's so a difficult board game with a long history, with nice looking pieces, ...
I've a pc game for learning chess on a way like this:
"play a chess adventure & learn" !

I like the board games of "999 Games".

I was wrong about the Carcassone game; I do own that. It's El Grande we bought for our friend. Puerto Rico and Carcassone (Rio Grande Games) are the best ever. I seriously doubt the Dragon Commander Board Game can come even close to that.

I CHALLENGE YOU you hear me?!!!

Puerto Rico is a great game. Another favourite game of ours is Through the Ages - A Story of Civilization by Vlaada Chvátil. And there are many others: Stone Age, Caylus, Goa, Navegador, ... and so on.

I wanted to try the Civilization board game based on the computer game along with the expansion, Fame & Fortune.

Within the gaming groups I've been playing in, Battlestar Galactica (w/ all expansions) and The Resistance: Avalon seem most popular at the moment. Both are collaborative games with the hidden traitor mechanic.

For me, prominent "RPG-type" board games include Mage Knight, Mage Wars, and Summoner Wars.

For non-RPG games I would add "Ticket to Ride" or Zug um Zug originally.

I also like Carcassonne but we always end up in epic peasant wars with a particular friend, and there is always bleeding hearts afterwards, lol - but never to death.

If RPG is what you have in mind, a friend of mine was raving about a game where you have to more often than not co-operate to kill demons and close the gates they come from as they are so powerful, and success depends on surviving fear checks. He was meant to bring it for us to play but... borrowed to some fried, or other.

Anyone here knows the game I am referring to?
