If Original Sin is the Prequel to Divine Divinity, do we have to make all the preparations for it?

So, will we meet the well-known guys from Divine Divinity? Will we found the black ring, teach Ilona her first magical tricks, curse Mardaneus with his sicknes, kill Thelyron the first time, hide the Sword of Lies, name the female heroine character "Demona", name the male hero "Janus", tell some wasps to attack a certain beehive, banish an evil ghost into a sword form (and put it inside a rock), draw some treasure maps and hide the parts of them randomly (e.g. in the canalisation of Verdistis), hide the parts of the dragon armor in several weird parts of Rivellon (and create a legend about it), place a Demon into the dwarven mines, spend some days with Buad trying to find the correct tea recipe, build some palasts (6 needed)...

I think it's taking place a century or two before Divine Divinity, which seems just slightly before the time of most of the people. But then again, Baud and Seth were in Divinity 2 and they had to have been pushing 90+ at the time, and Zandalor is over 700 years old in Divinity 2, so who knows.

I'm definitely interested in how this story will connect with Divine Divinity/2 , but I want to experience that for myself. There's a good chance that a lot of the things we do in this game will have echoes to the later games, though.

Pretty sure we will meet Zandalor, and there will be references to some other characters and events of course, but I doubt anyone from DD will be there. Buut... may be we will meet with the legendary Circle from Story.pdf of DD? Doubtful, since developers kind of threw most of the story, described there, into trash bin with their D2.

I hope they'll give Zandalor a bit more of a badass of an attire. I remember really despising his look in DKS compared to how he was in DD.

...

You mean, the stars they added on his robe and hat? Cause that's basically the only change. He still had a robe and pointy hat in DD.

Imo:
Zandalor his voice and looks are in DD more of a "mighty wizard" ... In DKS I miss that "feeling" a bit .

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.
