I am interested in controller-support... I have a PC Logitech Xbox-for-PC compatible controller, and use it when there's a game that'll run on my PC that also supports it, as I prefer a controller over a mouse or WASD. I agree that it would be a shame if Larian doesn't do a third-person sort of sequal to Divinity 2 TDKS. After all, Divinity 2 TDKS (on the Xbox 360) is my first Larian game, though I have played games like the original Divinity series also (and probably will eventually get them, they're both about $6 and will run fine on my PC.)
I'm glad to hear that Larian is taking some inspiration from Ultima, according to the blog. I was a big fan of those, though I started with Ultima V or VI I think. (Whichever was the first one with VGA graphics, which was a quantum leap in graphics technology at that time), and never really played the ones immediately after those because their memory management tricks conflicted with my QEMU setup at the time which would mean taking down my BBS and reconfiguring my boot config.sys file just to play them, and using up precious space on my 40MB HD besides. (Does this date me?

) However, I did play some text-only Infocom RPGs before that on an older relative's Apple II with a monocrome monitor before I had my own PC; which I hope he won't pattern Divinity after because that's *too* retro.

Also I spent more hours than a roommate wanted playing "Wizardry" on his pre-286 808x PC, another RPG delight. (That one I wouldn't mind seeing again in a similar form, but not with CGA graphics, but again, probably also too old-school for many users.)
Divinity 2 TDKS though, in new bottles, manages to capture that old RPG wine very well - it reminds me more of the classic RPGs than any other similar RPG title, and I have several of them, on the Xbox. The way the characters do dialogue is lifted right out of the old RPGs, albeit with more animation, and the "hack and slash" combat is very old-school. It's really an undiscovered gem, the big publishers managed to hype other RPG games from competitors, and sadly, I hear the original release was rather "rough around the edges" which didn't help matters.
Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to see developers keeping the old-school RPG flame going. In spite of the different approach, I'm looking forward to the new games from Larian.
