I believe that this game should never have come out.Solely the context of dragons using jet packs is disgusting.i dont know whats become of the larian studios that made divinity 2 but dragon commander and original sin are not in the slightes as good as that and i can honestly say i will not be getting these games.

Can I borrow your time machine? I'd like to try these game out, as well...
If not, I guess I'll just have to wait for the demos/games to be released before I can form an opinion on the actual gameplay.

It's Merlin the Happy Pig!
(quoting div2)

I didn't get the 'disgusting' thing actually. 'Childish', 'Crazy' or 'Freakin´ Awesome' would be more suitable candidates. Cannot imagine why carrying a jetpack would be that bad.

The Jetpack can speed up your gameplay ... but nobody MUST use it ... that's all up to you !
So simple: if you find a Jetpack stupid (or whatever), don't use it . smile

I do believe you 'must' use a jetpack at least once if you truly want to play DC Joram.
But don't worry, the jetpack will run on 100% virtual green energy. No harmful effects on virtual nature!
If you do however enjoy destroying nature, you should play Anno 2070 (which is a great game btw, only not that innovative. Anyone who knows if Deap Oceans is worth purchasing?)

Of the course I go use that Jetpack !! grin
I only was trying to explain to other gamers a Jetpack is not something (for example) that is "required" to fly as dragon ... wink

I'm totally sure a Jetpack is Awesome Cool !!

ALL HAIL LARIAN STUDIOS.

CREATOR OF DIVINITY 2 THAT IS NOT IN THE 'SLIGHTES' AS GOOD AS TWO GAMES THAT ARE NOT YET RELEASED.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

Yes, he has only 3 posts here, all fairly negative. Other ones about Original Sin not being enough like Div2.

This is disappointing to hear, since Merlin lives his life backwards he must have already played these games, I just have to hope I enjoy them more than he did.

Oh and Merlin, just a heads up, Oblivion is a big disappointment after Skyrim, but don't let that put you off Morrowind.

Well, a dragon with a jet pack is a curious idea at the beginning, but when we see the context - another age, long time before Divine Divinty, with spaceship, great weapons and powerful civilisations - that's not so "strange". The hero is a Dragon Knight, so he knows about human technology...and so can use it cleverly.
May be it's also a pretext to make the dragon mode easier to play, with the very big maps. Imagine you have to cross all the map just with your two wings... aw aw aw... "The Raven crashed, too late Sir. Uuups."

The jetpack does indeed allow you to get around the maps much faster than you could compared to Divinity 2 flight. I think the speed came first (the origins of the game being one of the Larians playing around with dragon combat after DKS was released), and the jetpack fit with the steampunk / dieselpunk type style they adopted (or maybe the jetpack was first and they went with that for the rest of the game).

Thanks ! =3
I agree with you for speed. But I have one question about the jetpack in the game : does anybody know if it will be possible to improve the "skills" of the jetpack (speed, handiness, etc) or add some extra tech/magic power on it ?
I've registered my "golden jetpack", so it will be just golden or it will have something special...?
=P

I don't recall if any upgrades were mentioned specifically for the jetpack. The DLC is just cosmetic (golden from the retail anthology code, silver from last year's Chinese New Year promo).

Tbh, that was my first reaction(same as OP) when i saw a preview/upcoming article of a game of dragons with jetpack.

But then, after looking at the game multiple times and saw all the tech in the game, aint so bad. Its whacky but starting to grow on me...

Btw whats the timeline for all the divinity games? DC looks to be the future, but i read somewhere its the earliest on the timeline?
