I beat all of the minions in the cave, but when I start fighting the big guy I get his health about half way down and he just disappears on me, and there's two chests in here that I can't find the keys for, can someone please help? Did I do something wrong? Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Never mind, guess I should've left the cave before I asked my question......lol

You should have gotten a cutscene with Svadilfari saying he would defeat you in the air (or something like that), and running off towards the cave entrance.

For a couple chests there you need to complete a quest for the beholder Groth (behind the locked door in that cave) before you can get the keys.
