Hi there. I wanted to know if it would be possible for the final game to have keyboard movement controls (outside of battles, naturally).
I have a condition in my hand and let's just say it really doesn't fare too well with constant clicking.

A lot of interaction with enviroment kinda make it impossible to play this game without cursor to point and click at things, drag items, etc...

Yep yep I realize that Sawo, but I'm talking about movement keys only. For RPGs like this that will have you travelling across a large game world, I'd rather have the comfortable WASD for movement and keep the mouse for other, less repetitive actions.

I'll check on that; I'm not a huge fan of excessive clicking, either (though prefer mouse to WASD movement). You should be able to click and hold to direct your characters, like in DD and BD, which reduces mouse travel and button clicking. There are also ways to map mouse movements to a gamepad (though D:OS will not support gamepads directly, as least at release).

The possiblity of walking around with WASD and using the mouse for clicking on items or NPCs or dialogue options and things like that would be awesome. In turn-based combat I would prefer complete mouse controls.

It would certainly feel weird, given the game's perspective... but hey, one more option to add. Probably it could be welcomed if you spend a particularly long session, but also, as Raze said, you have the option to click and hold.

I depends on how keyboard controls are implemented. Just hold for example A to let the characters walk to the left side of the screen. It's quite easy imo. It's not a top priority for me, but a "nice to have" feature.

Yes, better make such an option like this : + 1 And more: this option can improve the accessible for more players, especially for players with a handicap and increase the amount of different kind of players more than making an option to choose other "gender" for your man or woman main character (to play man/man or woman/woman) !

Please add full keyboard mappability to map keys where a player wants. I'm lefthanded and WASD just doesn't work for me at all without pain.

It is technically possible to control character movement with keys (outside of combat), but implementing that isn't high up on anyone's to-do list. Check back during the alpha (summer) or beta (September/October) tests, when there will be more of a focus on the usability, etc.

You actually hold the left mouse button down and your char will follow it around. That's not really a lot of clicking...

It is a lot of holding the mouse, though (which, if you have wrist problems, a better mouse or arm position could help with). It may also be possible to map mouse clicks/movement to a gamepad, or something.

I personally don't like click and hold, because I can't use the mouse anymore while walking/running (to highlight stuff, etc.), so I only use it very rarely. I prefer to click to move while exploring/analyzing an area.
WASD controls would be neat though. Then you can use the mouse and move at the same time in a very efficient way.

I really hope the team will decide to add the WASD movement, just as an extra option, it don't seems hard to implement, something like minutes, max few hours, i've seen an easy script for working the WASD movement on Diablo 3 done by an amateur. I know to be strange or fool but I decide to buy this kind of games (as this a lot of others) based on the control system...I really hate the click movement, it's something stronger than me, and as me I know other people that can't (in the sense that they hate) play (and so don't buy) games with that kind of movement.
I'm sorry, it seems I'm here to complain or provide against, but I really think what i've wrote.

Controls are important in a game, especially if it is something that is going to take 50 or 100 hours to finish. A gamepad can easily take over for WASD movement; click to move is a little harder, but can also be done (support in the game would be better, if it wouldn't take too long to do). Welcome to the forum.

WASD AND click-to-move should really be available in the game. IMO these are basic controls for an RPG today, even for an old-school game like D:OS.

I like having options, so WASD is would be great! Also the option to double click rather than click and hold. The mouse will be performing a lot of functions in this game, and there's no option to multitask when it's being used always or movement.
I see nothing, I know nothing, I did not even get up this morning!!

Just one more vote for keyboard movement, and other keyboard controls. It makes life easier for me.
Click-and-hold mouse movement is probably the worst kind you can have, since you cannot do anything else with the mouse and it's also more straining (for me) than click-and-move.
I also think keyboard movement could be reasonably easy to do in the battles. You just move as normally with the keyboard and press a key when you are done moving. Targeting can be done with the keyboard simply (with tabulator. Since targets don't move around constantly, this is easy for the player to keep track of), you can have hotbars of special abilities with keyboard shortcuts and so on, so I'd think it's reasonably easy to do the basic battling with only the keyboard.
