Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Need Help: Exp & REP Bug when reporting Elrath

Version: GOG DivDiv (Patched with DDpatch10062)

My problem is that I don't get exp and rep when I report Elrath to Ralph after completing the escort healers.

This happens when: I almost completed the quest where all you left to do is to report Elrath to Commander Ralph. I made my report and I never got any experience nor reputation. I noticed that the game freezed for a second (it does that whenever it gives exp and rep). Please note that I have already completed the escort healers when I reported. I even cured the three (picpocketed the cure) poor citizens.

Now I did some test on a later save:

Now when I reloaded an earlier save where I haven't yet completed the escort healers, when I report to Ralph I got experience and my reputation from 6 goes up to 13. When I talk to the general to have them provide escort to the healers I got a sermon when she tells me Im late or something. I noticed that the quest marker for the escort healers did not turn green.

My problem is that I can only get one of the two scenario:

1. Escort healer quest marker will be tagged as complete but doesn't get exp/rep from Harvest quest.

2. Will get exp/rep from the Harvest quest but the Escort healer quest marker will be tagged as incomplete.

Or am I missing something here?

I search through Google and these forums but found no answer. Also, all the faqs about quest doesn't answer this.

Anyways I will continue searching for answer.

Been playing DivDiv all night and haven't yet gotten any sleep so the post might be a bit a mess.

How I dream of unofficial patch for this game like Skyrim.

That is normal, or at least when I reloaded one of my old saves at that point I didn't get any reward for reporting Elrath (except an invitation to the castle). You get experience and rep when picking up the letter to Elrath in his basement, though (didn't check any of the earlier sections of that quest).

Completing any of the quests that give you an invitation to the castle will break the escort quest, if you have not already completed it (they move on their own). The two sick soldiers also leave Aleroth, and if you didn't finish the catacombs, Mardaneus will be cured without your assistance.
Maybe the reward you get from Ralph is for the escort quest (when you get the invitation), rather than for reporting Elrath?

When I picked up the letter on Elrath's bloody table I think I only got 1 rep.

It's weird because I finished all the quest in Alaroth. I think I will finish all quests except the Harvest and Escort.

FWIW, your reputation doesn't matter all that much, as long as it doesn't become negative enough that NPCs stop talking to you. There are some minor effects in how NPCs (mostly guards) react to a very low rep vs mid rep, but a couple points isn't significant. Merchants you trade with frequently are going to go to 100, anyway.

Thanks for the info. I'd rather mark the Excort healers quest as completed than a couple of reputations.
