Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Is It Supposed To Be This Easy?

I'm about 24-or-so hours in, and this game is starting to get really boring to me. I loved it to DEATH at first, but I get no enjoyment out of the combat anymore at all. I'm level 29, and I can waltz right through level 45 Mountain Trolls like nothing else. I changed to hard, but that didn't do anything too noticeable. I don't even feel like I deserve to be this powerful at this point, I've made a huge amount of mistakes in which skills I wanted to take, and have very random point allocation (not stats like constitution, skills like identify).

I really want to be able to finish this game, I really, REALLY love it, but the combat is really holding me back.

The game does tend to get easier as it progresses, especially if you reload a lot to get the best possible equipment. Unless you are using a weapon with Frost on it, though, it shouldn't be that easy, I don't think. With my warrior, outside of a few boss type opponents there wasn't too much that was a serious threat around level 29, but I still had to pay attention. Combat was easy in the 40s for level, but it wasn't until the final section of the game that it became a cakewalk (though much of the combat could simply be bypassed then).

You can always avoid using charms, over-powered skills, or not use specific types of armour, etc.

If you are using the Scorpion Deadly kiss then the game will be easy. Ignore that skill. Use a bow and it will be easy.

Why don't you try using a sword with no cold enhancement?
