Hi all i am kind of paranoid type of guy and i got the beta key for steam and got the game but a message said i had to let them into my files so at first is was like alright but after i said okay i started to get nervous and think hey if they can get into my files they can do other things on my computer. Can anyone else ease my fear or is this a first time its happened just tell me if they are going to spy on my computer or not XD

Watch out, I'm sure these guys are after your porn collection! smile

This is a beta, and the goal of a beta is to collect information on crashes, system information, gameplay and stuff like that so they can improve the game before release and make sure the game runs well on different types of hardware, that's all.

You're basically contributing to a better game on release without actually having to do much.

If you go to the 2nd tab in that reporting window, you can see what data it is sending. Like your DXdiag (you system specs and drivers) and other operating system infos. It doesn't send any personal files, just your computer specs (so they can debug different computer setups) and dump/log files from that session of Dragon Commander (so they can review the game logs so see exactly when and where a bug occurred).

It's all pretty benign stuff. It's not a virus or hack. It just gives the Devs basic infos to make sure their game can work on the huge range of different PCs gamers use.

Don't take it the wrong way, but either a little more internet savvy would help, or a doctor.

Consider that of the many other people that use the same thing, a lot of them know full well what they're getting into. You'd be finding warnings left and right if something of the nature you're worried of were going on. Plus the above.

Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

You also have the option each time you exit the game whether you want to send any information. If you have any feedback or experienced any problems you can report them, otherwise you can decline.
