Hello, this question goes for DC and D:OS. I know that GOG has no Linux support yet, but would it be possible to include the Linux build in to the extra content or give us any other possibillity to get the Linux build through GOG?

I would like to play the games DRM free on Linux, but I dont like to have my games spread over a lot of stores like Vault which offers games from only one studio.

From what I understood, the inhouse game engine which DOS is built with supports Windows & Mac and could supposedly with a bit of tweaking support Linux as well. So there is a chance, but no guarantees.

Well I think the question is more along the lines that if linux support is added will it be available via gog (steam has support for linux distribution).

A Linux version of D:OS was confirmed when the kickstarter was funded. After that, Larian said that since the same engine was being used for both games, that would mean a Linux version of Dragon Commander (which sounded probable, if not definite). More recently, didn't someone say the Linux version would have its own beta? (maybe Swen in one of the twitch.tv Q&A sessions?)

As for GOG, Larian and GOG both know there will be Linux versions of the games, so there is likely a plan in place. However, we're unlikely to get an official comment until GOG actually announces Linux support or the game is released and some alternate arrangements (Larian Vault) are made. I would suspect GOG wouldn't want to add it as an extra if they don't have official Linux support by then, if only because that would add a ton of extra bandwidth for people using the GOG downloader to get all the extras without paying attention to the size.

Perhaps there could be a key for the Linux version on the LarianVault in the GOG extras/goodies. wink

What I mean is that if a linux version of DC becomes available; steam already has in place a method to distribute it for those people who currently (or in the future) own DC. This does not imply that there is currently a steam version of DC.
