Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems no smooth daylight or nighttime transitions

when i play this game it never slowly goes from day to night. It will be light and booom! its night. it did not do this to me in version 1.29 but when i upgraded to 1.34 it started doing that. does anyone have this same problem. please help it sucks when i am killin orcs in nice daylight and whammo nighttime. i know its not much of a problem but its rather annoying.

i have:
pentium 4 1.6 gig
geforce 4 ti4200 (det 43.45)
512 ram

I had a short dawn/dusk effect, then after installing the hotfix it was normal (it stayed normal after the patch as well). I just re-installed so I could check something in v1.29, then re-installed the patch, and got an instant day to night transition. Since some people can gain or loose dawn/dusk by installing the patch, you could try re-installing the patch again, or un-installing game and then re-installing the game and patch (backup your savedgames folder first, just in case). May be worth a shot, anyway.

I have the same problem. heh, I didn't even know it was a problem until I saw this post. I played the game from start to finish, and I thought it was normal it to suddenly change from day to night.

I've tired to re-install the patch, un-install the game and re-install it and re-installed the patch (did this 8 times) and I'm still having the same problem. Do you have anymore ideas?

rats. i tried switching drivers, uninstalling, reinstalling, changing video options and i have found no cure. maybe there will be a new patch (except a new patch probably means more stability probs.) i can only hope for a fix. well its not that bad, at least it doesn't crash. thank jeebus.

Try to add "splotchproblem 0" (wihout the quotes) to your config.lcl, after installing the 1.34 patch. I don't know if it will work on your computer, but it worked for me.

I can't get into the file. What program can I open it with?
