Did you find the campsite area on the most north eastern beach (tent, couple chests, blanket on the sand, couple sets of poles stood up to hang fish), not too far from a teleporter and the door to Laiken's Study? He should be wandering around there somewhere.
If you have the Developer's Cut release of the game, you can load the save in the Developer Mode version, hit F11 to open the cheat window, and use the GotoCharcter function (on the right side) to teleport to Allan.

Looked and looked again, found his books but not him, went on from their. I saved the game at that point, in case I decide to look for him again, which I may use the cheat console. But I went on and started another saved game and ended up in the morgue, where I did not find the key to the second floor door. Got into the third floor door, and the first door in the fourth floor but cannot get into the library, I guessing that is what that door leads to. I read some threads with the same issue, but never clear if they solved the issue. One thread in particular where they humiliated the guy to the point that he finally said he got in but did not say if even found this morgue key. I am thinking he must of and just did not say where or how. In my case, maybe the key fell into the wall space or sewer space where I cannot dwell. I don't know.

Which brings me to question, or suggestion to the developers. Is there a keyboard key that you can press, that reveals fallen items? In this game, if there is an item on the ground, usually it glows slightly and has speckles or stars ascending from the item and the space it is occupying. Maybe their should be a key that you can press that would label the fallen item(s) so you can find them in cases that the item may of fallen in a non visible space, like a wall thus making the item clickable. If there is such a key, please let me know.

The key in the morgue should be dropped by an abomination master. If Allan went missing in your game, maybe it did, as well? Or the key just didn't drop... I don't think I ever encountered a loot drop in a wall, but I did have a couple drop out of reach if there was a gap in the floor or someone died while falling off a cliff.
There is no hotkey to reveal nearby loot, but the Developer Mode will let you unlock the door.

Hi,
Got through as you probably imagined. I loaded the game in developer mode, and voila, there was the demon that had the key, killed him, and it was in his/her loot bag. but loading in normal mode from the same point, this demon was not visible. If anything, a good bug report. I have read a few threads on this happening to others.
