Will the beta continue to work even after release? Or will it not get anymore support?

Larian is considering keeping the beta going to test any updates or additions.

If Larian does this they should consider making a slight change.

I noticed that when I launched the game proper for the first time all my beta beta saves were still in the directory and it even carried over my settings. They should be separate or it might cause trouble.

Yea when i launched the full version it found an old beta save; when I hit continue (top option on man menu) it crashed

The beta and full game should use different directories I think. One concern I have is if they are sharing resources of any sort and if it will cause later issues if one of them udpates (probably not if the game use typical file layout - my documents for saves and .../steam/... for resources but I didn't other to check.

The earlier betas used the 'Dragon Commander' folder for options and saves, which can cause problems with the full game, as you found. Later betas switched to 'Dragon Commander Beta', so there shouldn't be any more issues like that if Larian continues to use the beta to test updates.

I pre-ordered the game but do not have the gold dragon skin why is this?

im not sure this is the place to ask this but I could find no better place.

Some people are having trouble with the gold dragon skin either not showing up, or being in a new game but not after continuing or loading a save. Hopefully that will be fixed soon (there also should be an option added to enable or disable the effect).

I assume you have the Imperial Edition installed, since you didn't mention the Earth map or soundtrack being missing.

From what I can tell the Gold skin, for me, shows up in skirmish just fine, and in the first real time battle in the campaign mode. after the first battle it disappears. This is where an option to turn it on or off would be helpful as well, maybe it will add some stability to the skin as well with that factor holding it in place.
